Default Question about meetings when out of town...

How many of you go to them? We spend a lot of time at the lake during the warmer months, and a lot of that time will fall on my normal weigh in days. While it's not really considered "the warmer months" yet, we will be down there for the next week for spring break. How do you all handle it? There are meetings that are about 15 miles from our place there that I'm sure I can attend, although I'm not sure if they're set up to accept the monthly pass. I guess I'm just curious if you change your weigh in days at home to accomodate your travels, or if you weigh in and attend a meeting while out of town?

Kelly: I specifically ask the lady at my WW location about this very thing and this is what she told me as far as having the monthly pass. She said it is good only in the area you bought it in, that WW runs a Sun-Saturday schedule so for example, I always weigh in on Friday. If I weigh in on Friday, then go on vacation and do not weigh in by the Saturday after my next regular Friday weigh in, I lose 2 weeks worth of my prepaid. She said as long as my book shows I weighed in, no matter where it was at, then I don't lose any prepaid. Now as far as attending a meeting and such, we are going to Indiana for my dil's baby shower the end of the month and I am going to miss weigh in. I haven't quite decided whether I am just going to weigh in on Wed before we leave Thur morning or go somewhere in South Bend, pay the regular fee and weigh in. I don't plan on attending the meeting, no matter which I do for that week.

Last summer I was in Austria and I hit a meeting! Not only was I a pleasant suprise and a conversational piece for dinner that night with their families to the goer's of that meeting.. ~laughing~ I was also an inspiration. Proving how easy the program travels with you!! That just because you leave home and hearth behind... your girth follows. ~winks n grinz~

Even though that was all nice and good, you know what made it better? Its what I proved to myself. I solidified a lot of the process, the commitment I made to me. Sure I tasted a lot of the goodies varying countries have to offer. Thats part and parcel of experiencing different cultures. ~smiling brightly~ But I held myself accountable, kept myself mindful. Knowing I was having an experience of a lifetime but at the same time not wishing to spend what felt like a lifetime working off vacation weight.

I wouldnt hesitate to hit a meeting inter-state or across the States. If you thought losing a pound was a high... try being an inspirator/motivator to others ... WoWza's!! That and no language/weight conversion difference! ~laughing~

Live, Laugh, and Love the process Ladies!!

Sincerely,

Sassy

WW is International.... HOO_HAH!

I've done both. If I know that I'm going out of town later in the week, I hit an earlier meeting if there's one scheduled that I can make it to. However, I've also gone to a meeting out of state and that was fun too. It's kind of fun to check out how other leaders do their presentations. Everyone's always been nice to me, and made me feel welcome. I don't have the weekly pass, but I had prepaid before I went out of state, and they didn't charge me for the meeting. They used one of the prepaid slots. I don't know how the weekly pass works, so you might have to pay the regular weekly amount for those weeks. You can always call ahead and ask them how it would work. Have fun at the lake!!

I went to a meeting in Virginia and they honoured my coupon book as a courtesy. She said they do this for all out of town people who want to weigh in. It was such a nice friendly meeting. They made me feel so welcome and gave a lot of encouragement. She also said if I didn't have my coupons with me I could pay the rate from my home meeting. It was my choice.

Thanks for all the input! I ended up weighing in at home before we left, but was disappointed with the result! I hate weighing in 4 days into my week as it kinda throws off my mental clock, but to add insult to injury, I started my TOM the day I went to weigh in, and that ALWAYS makes me jump about 2 pounds. Ah, well, this weeks weigh in ought to look pretty good....no TOM and 11 days worth of being on plan!

I never thought about them NOT accepting my monthly pass due to the region....I just assumed (naughty word, I know!) that if they did the monthly pass then mine would be accepted. I'll have to check it out, cause I sure don't want to pay double!
