Florettes steam veg?

  • Has anybody seen this anywhere and if so where? I keep seeing it advertised in newspapers and it could be just the thing for me at work on days when I can't face another sandwich. Just can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks.
  • Is it veggies in a bag, just like frozen veg? And you just pop it in the microwave from the freezer and serve? if so, I saw an ad for something like that by birds Eye today....so if I'm on the right wave length, I would think you'll find it in most supermarkets in the freezer section... If I'm on the wrong wave length, sorry
  • i know s'burys do bags that u can steam veg in.. (kept with all the other sandiwich bags/ foil. cling film kinda area..) so u can make up your own to take.. ???

  • I've only ever seen Florettes salads, which are very nice.

I know Sainsbury and Morrisons (and probably the other big supermarkets) do fresh mixed veg you can just bung in the microwave (they're in the prepared veg section) and, like Chris says, Birds Eye do frozen veg you can microwave.

Personally, I am not sure about microwaved veg... it doesn't take long to steam or stirfry from 'natural' and it works out a lot cheaper.
  • Those are the best invention, those steam veggie bags. Easy peasy. And draining the water out is so convient because all you have to do it cut off a teeny corner and then hold the other end of the bag and let it pour into the sink and then you have moist but not soaking veggies all ready to eat! I literally just finished eating the birdseye green bean one. Yum!
  • My mini Tesco does that florettes steam veg - it's £1.99 for a big plastic packet and comes with a dressing type thing. I bought a packet once but it fell out of my panniers before I got home, so I couldn't tell you if it was any good or not!
  • Thanks Frus, that's the very stuff I'm after. Off to Tescos then.
