Olive oil is good, as well as natural oils found in fish and nuts. Anyone else have more ideas?

W/W doesn't count anything but 5 healthy oils so the nuts, fish, and avocado don't count.

canola
olive
flax seed
safflower
sunflower

Thanks! And how much is one serving of the oil that WW recommends? A teaspoon, tablespoon, etc? And how do some of you add it into your diet? The only thing I can think of is in salads... but there must be more than that!

I have a question about the flax seed oil. I found a supplement that is flax seed oil and was wondering if anyone knew about it. Does it count as a serving of oil? Thanks!

What about supplements that are oiled based? Such as bottled oil or gel capsules filled with oil. I take flax oil capsules because I can not stand the taste of it.

I was thinking of bringing my Omega 3, flax, evening primrose and garlic oil capsules in to my WW meeting and asking my leader if the combination of all three of these can count as at least ONE of my healthy oils per day. I'll bet one, alone, wouldn't count.
I'm taking these for preventative measures.... they are supposed to prevent cancer, help with "female issues" and that kind of thing. Omega 3 is heart healthy as well.
We all know our bodies need essential oils and we, in the past in an effort to be "healthy" and low fat, have done ourselves a disservice by eliminating them. How many of us would spray non-stick spray in a pan to saute' something like onion and garlic when we should use a tsp. of olive oil, for example? I know I was doing that.
I count my oils if I use them for saute if I consume the food eaten and the oil has "disappeared" into the food.
One way I get my oils is is to saute' chopped onion and green pepper in 2 tsp of olive oil. When it is done to my satisfaction, I add 1 egg mixed together with 1/2 egg whites (I buy the kind in the little carton, so easy!) and then I make an omelette and add FF feta cheese and sometimes a bit of diced tomato if I have it on hand.
This is a wonderful CORE breakfast (non-core, flex, people can have it too and it's a great breakfast) and I get those oils in to start off my day.
What other ideas to people have to get in those oils? I'd love to hear them.

Linda, Just so you know many leaders (including mine) have stated (and checked manuals and W/W International HQ) that NO SUPPLEMENTS can count toward the 2 servings.

Really? No supplements at all? I'll still take them anyway, though, as I do so for the reasons outlined above.
Kelly, love the phrase "cowboy up", which sports team was it that started that? I am reminded each time I see one of your posts.
It's a great phrase to define how we should all be in our weight loss efforts!

This might seem nasty to lots of you, but I put olive oil in a small glass of water and drink it. That way I know I'm getting it for sure. I use the light tasting and actually it doesn't have much of a taste at all.

I can't imagine drinking my oil like that, but each to their own. If you are getting what your body needs and happy with it, then go for it!
I relayed to my leader in our meeting on Tuesday night the supplements I am taking each day and she felt that I could count them, all totalled, as 1 of my healthy oils.
Perhaps WW hasn't really gotten a policy on this? I do see calories listed on my supplements, and my Evening Primrose Oil and Flax oil, alone, add up to about 30 calories and then the Omega 3 is about 20 calories on it's own. If the general rule of thumb is that 50 calories = 1 point, then I guess if you were taking 50 calories worth of oil capsule supplements, you might get away with counting them a one of your servings.
I am trying really hard to get into the habit of having my healthy oils each day, and usually on a salad or to saute' peppers and onions in if I have a morning omlet. But, if I just can't get it all in, I know that my supplements are helping.
By the way, I get hot flashes due to menopausal symptoms and I am finding these oils combined with soy supplements to be rather helpful.

Linda, I know what you mean on hot flashes and how they help. HOwever, yes W/W does have a policy and it is in all the leader manuals (I know several leaders who are friends). No supplements "OFFICIALLY" count towards the servings required in the Healthy Checks but I think like back when there was the question on the official stance on the dairy issue leaders tended to not 'argue' that the calcium fortified OJ wasn't a dairy, etc.
