Hey Chicks! Jim is still feeling poorly and still having diarrhea. No more medicine for him. Doctor said it wasn't essential and seems to think it was from the penicillin. He's sleeping alot (Jim...not the Doctor) and is not hungry. He's had 2 bananas, a bunch of water (for him), and two pieces of toast with SF jelly. I was feeding him Gatorade until I realized it had sugar in it, which isn't really too good for a diabetic now is it? Some nurse I am.
I'm feeling kind of sick to my stomach. I just feel upset that he's not feeling better. He said he doesn't feel worse. I'm going to try to feed him some chicken noodle soup later. I'm going to have some FF cottage cheese and pineapple until later. Thanks for the support. You all make me feel so good, like I'm not failing. I'm really trying hard not to use all of this as an excuse to eat badly or too much. Saundra, I believe you would be a fantastic Leader. I say go for it! Jim's birthday is May 2nd and mine is May 22nd. I'll be 50 this year and Jim will be 56. We have a ball celebrating in May. Sandra, doesn't it feel wonderful to have a fresh new start? I know you are going to be very successful and I just know you are going to inspire me too. Kath, I'm glad you found the leftover pills but what's up with your Doctor? Did he refuse the refill? I understand what you mean about Judd. If he doesn't volunteer to stay, it would be pretty miserable for both of you. Who needs that? I think it's a good idea for you to stay home. Have the girls bring home a smorgasboard ala Gilmore Girls. It'll be fun! Frouf, you little sugar machine! I'm glad you're enjoying your day and are feeling better. I hope your present is something very cool. I can't wait to hear what it was. Have a great time tonight for all of your sick friends at home! Gotta go get that food. All of a sudden, I'm starving. |
Vickie, it might take him a day or two to get all of that out of his system. I wish they made a SF Gatorade because I'd drink it all the time! Anyway, I hope he's better very soon and you too. You're right not to let this sidetrack you; there's always going to be something going on and I guess we have to learn not to use any and all bumps as an excuse to stray.
Speaking of food, I don't know what to do about tonight but I told Kate I didn't think I would be able to go out. Maybe by tomorrow night I'll feel like going. She needs to tend to her apartment issues anyway, and so I might just order them a pizza. I'm not hungry but all I've had today is 5-6 cookies, part of a coke, and some pills. I'm not sure what's going on with that refill. When I called to get it done yesterday, I did it all on the automated system so today when I called to see if it was ready, and got the message that they had no record of my request, that's when I called the doctor's office to tell them I needed a refill. Of course I had to leave a message and so if they approve the refill, it'll be Monday before I get it. Meanwhile I have Judd's LO pills but they aren't quite as strong as my others. Better than nothing though. |

vickie, you are a very good nurse for jim. i hope you're both feeling better. kathy, i hope kate gets moved all right. good you have judd's pills. patti, i'm sending you good wishes for dh getting a job soon. i have been there and know the stress. |
Have a great evening everyone! Jim won't eat anything and his fever spiked again. But he is letting me give him water and I just gave him ES Tylenol. I think the diarrhea is slowing down so that's good.
I'll be back in the morning. I'm very tired. |
I hope he's better by morning. I'm sure the poor dear is about to empty out with all that sickness and not taking in food. If you can just keep him hydrated, he should be okay.
Good night, all. I'm going to go play a game now. |
I just thought I was gone but came back to add something.
I got my Birkenstocks today and really like them. They sorta look like old lady shoes but that's okay, I'm getting on up there and might as well admit it! They are very comfy looking though, so my only worry is that I'll wear the right one and by the time I'm able to wear the left shoe, the right one will be all worn out! |
Goodness. I just typed out a big long post and then I hit something, who knows what, and the whole window disappeared. :p I'll try this again--
Kathy, I don't think the shoes look old. I would gladly wear them. I hope that you don't push yourself too hard this weekend and that you enjoy yourself as well. Vicke, I'm sorry to hear that Jim is still not feeling well. I hope that things are better by morning. I know it's hard on you too. Take care of the two of you! Saundra, it sounds like you are really making progress with work. It sounds like a great deal to me. And I agree with Vickie, I think you would be a great leader. Oh, and I have already started organizing the move. I have a notebook and everything. Packing and organizing makes me feel less anxious. Patti, it's good to hear from you. I'm sorry that things haven't gone well with jobs, but I hope that things will look up soon. Please keep us posted. Sandra, I'm so glad that you were encouraged and motivated by the meeting this morning. Can you pull me along please? We watched a movie tonight and have been fairly lazy. I did manage to cook some burgers for dinner. We are under a thunderstorm warning and tornado watch for the next half hour or so, we have been almost all day. Gotta love spring! I hope that you are all doing well tonight. "See" you tomorrow. |
Why oh why oh why oh why can't I catch a freakin' break???
Kate just stormed in the house -- she was leaving her friend's house to come home and locked her keys in her car with it running! Her friend drove her here, but she can't find the spare key so she's calling a 24 hour locksmith which will cost a fortune but it can't be helped. Good Lord! And Shaun's not home -- no idea where he is. I'm about to lose my mind. Absolutely, positively lose my mind. AARRRGGGHHH!! |
I'm still up. At this rate, I'll be sleeping all day tomorrow to catch up!
Kate got her door unlocked to the tune of $100. I was shocked! Poor girl has been hit from every direction. I'm sure she's ready for some good news. Her best friend's boyfriend was arrested for cocaine possession today. None of us can stand this guy and we've tried to tell her for over a year that he's a no good leech. Hopefully now she'll get the picture. He won't work (hey, why hold down a job when you can just sell drugs?) but is totally capable, and mooches off of her. She can't afford to pay for own things, let alone his too, and she's six months pregnant with his baby. All of the girls are trying to rally around her and give her support. She's really going to need it. I hope they throw him in the slammer for quite a while. He's bad news. Shaun finally came home but went straight upstairs. Whatever. He read my note though that I left him, asking him to plan on helping me clean tomorrow. I'm ready to do some major decluttering and throwing away of a lot of unnecessary stuff. My toes are getting more feeling and they all feel very big and out of line. It's still hard to describe but quite annoying. |
Good Morning Chicks! Pup and Jim woke me up at 4:45. Jim is still a sick but says he is feeling much better. Pup was hungry and full of "it"! I just made myself some coffee and thought I'd check in to see how all of your evenings went. I had to make my own coffee which does not taste good. Jim usually makes it for me. He makes the best coffee, even though he doesn't drink it himself.
I'm SO glad we don't have anything on our schedules for today. I'll need to run to Walt's which is a small grocer here. They have cool whip and ICBINB on sale and I think the sale ends today. I have got to get some food in Jim. He says he's hungry but he went back to sleep up there after being slightly sick again. I'm tired and will be needing a nap later. Kathy, whoa boy! It must be like being in a tornado when a person stands in your kitchen. I would just die of exhaustion if I lived in your house. There is always SO much happening. With all of that going on, did you get fed and watered? I sort of understand what you are talking about with your toes. Maybe sort of like your hand and feet feel when numbness is wearing off but before pins and needles set in. I'm talking this as a good sign that the nerves and tendons are heeling and maybe even that the blood supply is good and the bone will live? I know what you mean about how some of the birkies look but I don't think it's old ladish. I bought the two/three straps in the beginning. That's why I buy the cross strap or more funky ones now. My favorite white ones have a toe thong and a strap. They're very cute. If I were you, I'd consider not wearing them now. You might break the right one in funny from limping. You know they form to your feet and gait which won't be normal now. Just a thought. Melissa, sometimes lazy is very, very good and medicinal. When I told my Sister about my chocolate attack....she told me to stop but that the previous dose had been medicinal. Anything after that was a binge! She made me laugh and boy did it feel good! I always feel better when I organize, plan, and make lists. It takes away some of the panic when you are running around at the end. Your brain won't have to work then when you are really nervous. All you'll have to do is consult your lists! Believe it or not, the next time you move, it can be even a little more tense because then you not only have to worry about the loan of your own but of the people who will be buying your home. That's why so many sellers want people to be approved these days. I'm sure your loan will go through with flying colors! BTW, I like your avatar. Sandra, you sound a little distracted last night. Is everything ok? How do you feel after your first day back driving the wagon? Patti, I was really hoping that your DH had a job by now. Maybe a move would be an exciting and great life change. I'm still keeping your family in my prayers. Saundra, how was your evening out? Frouf.....what was the gift? Your killing us here! I need to go take care of my doggie again. I'll be back. |
Good morning, sunny and nippy cold up here.
Vickie, it sounds like Jim is on the mend. Wonder if was a bout of flu that coicided with drug?? You don't need too many days like that, but you were a real Florence Nightengale. A quiet day will be a good thing. Melissa, I heard about the storms in Kentucky last night and was worried about you. Glad you got through it. Gee, now house to look at this weekend.:) Kathy, you've got to write a book! Lord knows every day is a new chapter at your place. I too think the toe tingles is a good sign. When do you go to the doctor next? I can't believe that you'll be going back to work on Monday, but you'll know if you are ready. Patti, I'm so sorry about jobs in your area. Is there a chance of moving east for better prospects? I wish you the best and know something will come up. Okay Frouf, are you hung over?;) Natan is coming for a few hours and then we go to the show and dinner. I better go and get dressed. |
I'm up now and boy was I surprised to look at the clock and see that it was after 1 p.m.! I really needed some sleep. Hopefully today won't be quite as dramatic.
I put the dogs out to potty and go another (the last one) coke out of the fridge then came back to bed. I have no idea how I'll manage Monday but I guess the doctor thinks I should be sufficiently recovered. We'll see how it goes. I'll be back later. I wonder where the birthday girl is?? |
vickie, i didn't realize i sounded different. all is well here. our ride in the wagon towing the rv was good. curtis and duke dropped me off at home and went back to the dealership to do paperwork and make the money exchange. we now own a travel trailer. how's jim feeling today?
melissa, a good movie sounds good. curtis and i watched a van damme movie last night. it was cheesey but we liked the laughs it gave us. we got photos today from the tournament. i will try to put one on my profile. the photos are definitely eye openers. i told curtis they are my before photos. he tried to make me feel better blaming the white martin archery shirt i had to wear. he's sweet. i'm not going to do any cropping, so you'll see me "as is: in all my glory. next year i plan to get my photo made with brad camp (president of the national field archery association) handing me the first place bowl. and i'll weigh 40 lbs less. this photo definitely is helping me focus on what i want. kathy, i'm impressed that you're getting around as well as you are. yesterday's trip to town wore me out. we went again this am and i'm already tired. saundra, enjoy your outing with natan. |
kathy, i can't figure out how to attach a photo that's not on a website. is there a way?
