Jim is a little better this morning but still has diarrhea. I'm off to get ready for the test. We have to leave in 45 minutes.
|
Vickie, I hope that all goes well and that you are able to be calm and peace-full today.
|
 Kathy I was just watching a commercial for the magic bullet yesterday too! It does look interesting, doesn't it? I definitely don't need another kitchen gadget though.
I hope that everything has gone smoothly with you getting to work this morning, and that you have a good day. I am at home, and feeling much better. The only real problem is that my stomach is all crampy feeling, I think just from not having much food in it. I'm not sure what the best thing to eat is, either. Maybe an apple? I'm not sure. If I feel better by later this morning I might try to do some packing. I think moving around might help my stomach knots "work out" if you know what I mean. |
I'm here at work. It'll be quite an adjustment because the wheelchair barely fits under the desk; the monitor had to be brought forward all the way and there's no room for my work. The classified system is on the other side of my desk and I'll have to do the same thing for it, which barely leaves me room for anything. But I'll make it okay.
It was quite an ordeal getting in. I'm worn out now so I'll go do a few things and then be back later. |
Monday, is here again. Where did the weekend go?
Melissa, dry toast and soft boiled egg is a good start after an upset tummy. Bananas are easier to digest than apples. These are the rules of being a mom. One of these days it will be your turn to discover them.:D Kathy, sounds like your situation is challenging to say the least. I hope you manage okay, and will get off early. You've got to do this gradually, don't you? As for your unattended weekend, grrrrrrrr..... Sandra, I'm delighted and so proud that you are OP. It is a challenge, but gets easier as you hang in. Good for you. Lord knows, there are so many recipes available to us, we just have to find them. Vickie, hope everything goes well this morning. You've been down a rough road this weekend, and I hope that it gets better now. Frouf, what a wonderful birthday weekend. We were thinking of the Tuscan Grill for Saturday night, but wound up at Terra. It was not as good as previous visit. They sure charge enough though. Your gifts are outstanding. Looks like dh knows the direct route to your heart. Yesterday I made sweet and sour meat balls and apple farfel pudding. Both looked great. Gf did chicken soup and crock pot beef. We both worked on a potato pudding that we made up as we went. A good afternoon. Last night we went to Zola's (if you didn't guess already). Ds called, and Natan had a coughing bad night, but seems okay this morning. Those lousy colds really do him in. I'm loving the sunshine, and will go out now for a bit. Gotta fill the fridge up with fruits and veggies. |
Good morning all! I'm with Sandra, hopping back on the wagon. :) I've again let my eating slip...can't let that happen! So I'm back Core as of today.
I will be busy this week helping get my sister in law's home ready for her. But luckily, the weather looks like it'll be beautiful, with highs in the mid-70's! I'm sure that'll feel much nicer to her than what April CAN be in Iowa. I'm off to do my laundry and dishes. Angela |
Angela, so many of the excellent recipes that are in my files are from you. You really helped me on my journey, thanks a bunch.:)
|
Back at work - and I agree that the weekend just slipped by (esp with all the celebrating I did :) ). Still have a couple of loads of laundry awaiting my attention.
Kathy - hope you are not too exhausted by day's end. Sounds like a bit of logistics involved in getting you settled in? Are you able to work comfortably? Are you still taking pain medication? At least it's a short week (well we gov workers get friday and monday off so I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend). Saundra- your passover foods sound delish - I bet you will be feasting soon! I still have to run over to the Loblaw's and stock up on some Passover foods (after I check out my pantry downstairs!). Angela - when is your sil actually arriving? I bet she will be thrilled with the house (and hopefully the weather too?). Vickie - sending good wishes your way for a non-stressful morning and sure hope Jim feels better soon. Melissa - I would take it easy if I were you - definitely bananas, toast, maybe some chicken soup? Hope your tummy is on the mend. Of course after my weekend of debauchery my scale is on the up and up! I need to desperately get back on track and while I am not feeling supremely motivated I am taking it one meal at a time. Was able to get back to a core breakfast - and will try and find soup and salad for lunch downstairs (as no cooking or leftovers at my house this weekend!). Can't let life and birthday celebrations knock me down. Tomorrow may be going out for mil's birthday? Still awaiting final plans - wed/thurs night of course is Passover and I will try not to overindulge too much. I can't afford to gain any more weight! Also trying to get my water in - I have been so sloppy and uncaring about this and will need to FORCE myself to get it down cuz I know it helps. Weather is also getting much warmer here (altho rain predicted for end of the week) so it's time to charge up the batteries for the walkman and bring my runners to work so I can walk at bit during my lunch hour - at least something is better than nothing right? Frouf |
Hey everyone--stomach problems are back with a vengence. At this rate I don't know how I could go back to work tomorrow. I can't keep anything in. Even toast caused a major problem. So I'm now on an all-liquid diet per my mom who is a nurse. I'm really feeling it today. Unfortunately I've slept all I can I think, so I'm not tired but feel too bad to do anything. I might go ahead and pack some boxes despite hurting. At least I would have been distracted. DH is gone to class (obviously I'm not going tonight) so it's just me and the Murph-dog. This is the first chance I've gotten to come downstairs to use the computer as the bathroom is upstairs. It's not pretty over here.
I hope that you all are doing well. Just wanted to check in. |
Melissa, you poor dear. Don't overdo it. Just listen to mom and take it easy. Lay on the couch and veg (near a bathroom).
|
Melissa, are you having problems in the attic or the basement? ;) I think the remedies might be different depending on which end is giving you trouble. I hope you get some relief soon ... at this rate, you're sure to lose a pound or two though.
Judd brought me home early and has gone back to work. I managed 5-1/5 hours and now am back in the bed ready to take pain medicine. Hopefully each day will be better than the one before. Angela, your SIL is going to be so surprised and pleased at the efforts everyone is making on her behalf! What a special welcome to the family that will be -- it makes me smile to think of how touched she will be. Froufy, I hope you and Saundra have perfect Passover meals. It's a custom I'm not familiar with, or at least wasn't until I met you! I'm impressed with the symbolism of it all and am glad you posted the links for us. I have no doubt that you'll be fine (eating wise) throughout it. I meant to bring home my personalized cards from work so I could work on thank-you notes tonight. Shoot! I just now remembered them. I'd like to get them sent out asap. I've already written them in Word and now just have to handwrite them and send. That will save me some time and has given me something to do while lying in bed. Vickie, where are you? |
Hi Chicks! I'm stressed to the max. Jim's CT scan went ok and no bad affects from the dye. He still has diarrhea and I forced him to call the Doctor. Doctor wants him to do a stool test and he doesn't want to. I'm really upset since this is day 4. He just told me a few minutes ago that he'll do it tomorrow. We have to go babysit tonight from 6:00-9:30 for the Great Niece and Nephew. We really aren't up to it but we promised and we cancelled out last Monday which was the day Jim got his cancer diagnosis.
So we'll get his test done tomorrow and then I have an appointment with our internist at 5:00 pm for my dizziness. When does it end? My stomach is all cramped up with that horrible achiness. I think it must be stress. What else can it be? Maybe it's not the splenda or the eggs or the veggies. Sorry to be such a bummer. Kathy, I'm so impressed with you. Melissa, you sure sound like you have a virus like Jim. I hope it passes quickly. Jim doesn't seem interested in a liquid diet but then he's not really nauseous or throwing up. I feel so sorry for you. Frouf, thanks for the link. I didn't have a chance to look at it yet, but I will. I missed WW for the second week in a row. Not good. I don't even know what to cook because everything gives him diarrhea. I'm gonna get off now before I depress you all! |
Vickie!! We love you and you won't depress us. I feel so badly about all that you all are going through. I know that you will both be just fine though. You seem like two very strong people, and a great team.
Boy, when we fall apart, we all fall apart, don't we? Kathy, it's the basement. I'm done with food. And yes, at the last check I had lost 4 pounds in two days. So if I could keep that off it would be worth it, right? I'm glad you went ahead and came home. I'm sure going in spurts will make things easier. Saundra, thanks. I'm trying to stay as still as I can, but I'm awfully restless, too! I'm back to the upstairs. Sure wish DH had left the laptop for me, but he needed it for class. Time for my supper of Gatorade. :) |
You know what, I have a lot of rumbling going on too. I think it's from the antibiotics and all this water; maybe I should have toast for dinner if I eat anything.
Vickie, I hope things improve very soon with you and Jim. This has got to be stress that you're feeling but it doesn't hurt to check it out. Bless your hearts. |
Gosh Kathy I hope you don't develop stomach problems on top of everything else. That's all you need.
I'm going to see if I can pack some kitchen boxes. I know I should be resting but I am so restless. I already called in for work tomorrow-how can I go in when I can't leave the bathroom? :p Besides when I drove to Kroger earlier everything was blurry, I don't think I should be driving. I'll BBL. |
