is anyone doing the new core plan?
just wondering if anyone is planning of switching from core to the new core program where you use core foods in your flex range?
|
i went to ww last night and they don't have the new plan here in montana yet.
|
I haven't heard of this yet in NY either. I would think that would be a surefire way for lots of people to lose weight. Keep us posted on how it works.

That's what a lot of people do anyway.
Actually, it seems like it would have been a little smarter to devise the plan to include an "induction" period. I hate to use that term, but what I mean is maybe a period for the first few weeks where you eat Core foods but stay in your points range. It would help with portion control. People coming from Flex would already be used to counting and I think they could probably manage to do it for another week. People who are new to Core (some of them, at least) just see the "eat til satisfied" as a license to graze all day long, without watching portions at all. And face it, even if you strictly eat from the list, you can still gain weight by eating taking in more calories than you burn. |
yea that is what some ppl do anyway. i dunno know the specs yet bc i dont go til tonight but its a combo of the the 2 so im guessing thats the basic gyst.
|
im actually not planning on swithing...
i happen to feel that calorically the targets are too low and thats why i get hungry on flex. |
I work there and I have not heard a thing......hmmmm..interesting!
|
really lj? that is interesting bc i have a friend that went last night for the 1st time and she said they told her about a new plan that combines flex and core so ill see in a few hrs. ill let you guys know...
|
please do...that's interesting...thanks....
|
No new plan here in Texas either. I just asked a friend who has Monday night meetings. She never heard of it.
|
Thanks Kat....I know I am not crazy....I think I would have heard something!!
Also - just checked my with resources for verification.....NO Such Plan/No Such Combo......perhaps just a wiser way meetings will bring out to use your 35 WPA on Core selections rather than empty calorie choices.....but not a 'new' plan. |
I would say it's probably something that her leader suggested as a good way to keep an eye on portion sizes. As far as I'm concerned, eating your points allotment is plenty of food to keep you satisfied during the day, and apparently WW feels the same way or they would have made them higher.
Or, since it was her first time, there's also a good possibility misunderstood. It's a lot of info to take in all at once for someone who's never been to a meeting. |
perhaps...
as for daily targets....not lookin for a rumble or anything, but my opininion is they are too low. 1 pt only equals 50 cals so that means that the under 150 category is a mere 1000 cals.....200 below the recommended minimum for all humans daily. it also means that: 22 is 1100, and 24 is 1200 and according to the book, youd have to be minimally 175 lbs to be eating 1200 cals. does anyone else see anything wrong w this? |
There's something like an extra 200-300 calories from "free" vegetables. Kelly_S has a good way of explaining it -- much better than I can.
|
Plus, I also think WW know we all use our 35 points which adds to the daily consumption.
