is it the salt?

Hey ladies Ok so I was doing and feeling great on core. Then Tuesday night in between jobs, I had to grab something to eat on the road, I made a bag of microwave popcorn, the snack size one, and I stoped at Panera and got the low fat black bean soup think it core, and I ate the 3 point bread and used points. Well yesterday, I was a mess, I steped ont he scale and it was up, and I was just over all fat feeling. Do you think it was the salt in the soup or do you think the soup could have really hurt me that bad. So In my crappy feeling, I kind of binged but only on core food that I made at home. Today, I am determined to make this yucky feeling go away so I am not eating anything with sodium or adding salt to my food.
Do you find even the slightest difference in food can cause a big change in how you feel, and reatain water?
What do you do when you have to eat on the go? what would have been a better option?
thanks,
Jennie

Jennie, it was DEFINITELY the salt! Drink as much water as you can stand and it will flush it out of your system. And......stay off the scale, especially if it is going to upset you and make you binge even on Core food. Now, I say this with love and also you must realize this comes from another scale riding addict! If you cannt tread the scale with indifference (sometimes I can and sometimes I can't) then you should try to stay off of it. You will be ok, I promise. Just keep going.

And, congratulations on the NSV! You were upset and only overate Core foods. Good for you!

I think you did great for an on the go situation. I wouldn't have changed a thing actually, except your response to the water retention. Live and learn, GF!

thanks, I am a total scale addict. And ussually I don't let it affect me 'cause it will fluxuate but some times, it just get me. I'm on my third bottle of water today!
Its weird, I ate out all the time on flex and didn't notice much with difference but with core and preparing everything my self, even in this short amount of days, it has really made my system much more sensetive. which is a good thing, who need all that prepared food stuff in their system anyway.

Jennie,
I don't remember the nutrient count for salt for the Panera's low fat black bean soup, but I know it is extremely high. I do enjoy it, but I don't eat it anywhere near my WW's WI because I know I retain water terribly from it. I think you did fine in the situation you were in. Good for you for writing about it because all you want to tweak is your reaction to the water weight gain. I find it impossible to stay off the scale and I know I'd be much better off if I could, so I sympathize with you. You did great. You're successful, and you're very close to onederland. Keep it up! :cp:
