Pretty new to Core

I am a 20yr old college student at Auburn University. This is my 4th week on weight watchers and I have only lost 6.5lbs. I know that is good, but i expected to lose more because I am so young and I have started working out 4-5 times a week. I am so loyal to Core, I never cheat. Anyone have any suggestions to help me boost up my weight lost by a lb or 2.
Week 1:-2lbs
Week 2: -3lbs
Week 3: -1.5 lbs

It is just upseting because I did so good last week and worked out more and I lost less than I need the past weeks. Please help!

Well, personally I think you're doing well! The main suggestions we give each other is to up the water and watch the portions.

And welcome!! Please think about hanging out with us on the discussion board -- I think the current one is "fit and flirty on core board #30"!!

Dear Ressimf,

Please don't get discouraged - you are doing GREAT! In actual fact anything more than a 1-2 lb loss per week would be considered unhealthy - you would probably be losing muscle instead of fat - and that would not be a good thing!

It is typical to lose more weight in the first couple of weeks, and then your weight loss should slow down. Some weeks you may not even lose and stay the same despite continuing on plan and exercising. Your body will "rest" from time to time and adjust itself to the new routine.

There are also other nsv(non-scale victories) you should watch for such as feeling better, with more energy and choosing healthier foods and also the way your clothes look and feel on you. You might want to take your measurements and check on them every month or so - there may be times when you do not lose weight but do lose inches!

Keep up the good work - you're doing just fine!

Ress, you are doing AMAZING! Try to be patient. WW says you should not lose any more than 2 pounds a week. Kathy gave you good advice. Drink more water. I'm now drinking 8-10 eight ounce glasses a day in addition to other non-caffeine beverages. It seems to make a real difference. You already are doing better than the average, I'd guess. I'm 49 and exercise at least 5-6 days a week and have just hit my 45 pound mark and I've been on Core, faithfully, for a little over a year. So you can see that your young age and exercise regime have already rewarded you with an average loss of over 2 pounds per week. I say, keep at it and you'll be at goal in no time!

And, as Vickie's husband says, and we remind ourselves over and over, "It's a marathon, not a sprint." :)

I agree with what the other have told you. The kind of losses you're having now are the kind that are going to stick with you. The core plan is beautiful, because it's an eating style you can keep for the rest of your life. It follows the new food pyramid beautifully, and it's sensible eating at its best.

Congratulations on your success so far, and welcome! Join us on the Core chat board.

The weeks will pile up. The weight will go down. You're doing great. Try really hard not to worry about every ounce and every week. You want an overall picture right now. I *know* how hard that is to do, but you're doing great. Take care and congratulations on doing the right thing for yourself right now. :cp:

Dont forget - since you're working out soo much - you might actually be gaining muscles (which weighs more than fat) you could be looking at inches lost instead of lbs lost - im sure between the combination of the two you might be on target with what your thinking you should be loosing. I also think you're doing great - gives me motivation!
