terry, i am so happy for all of you. vickie's right. you look 20 years younger in the photo. what a blessing that you could all be united.

Thanks everyone. It's been an amazing month. People tell you that your life will change with a baby, but until you actually have one, you don't have the true sense of what that means. At least I didn't.

She is so much better than we ever dreamed of. There just aren't words for how happy we are. Of course, we're convinced she's a genius, an artist and an athlete, on top of being beautiful. I guess we've become parents -- and that's what we've wanted for so long.

My house looks like a hurricane has blown through. We've managed to cycle clothes through and keep the dishwasher going so that we've got a steady supply of clean clothes and clean bottles. With the rest, it's almost a game to see how fast you can get something done while the baby naps. Those of you with multiple little kids and relatively clean houses should share your secret.

My 'thank you' cards aren't out yet. I have this brilliant idea to take pictures of the baby using whatever gift the person gave me and print up a custom card. I think I've finally finished taking pics of her with all her gifts (she isn't fond of playing dress up, so the last few pics have the furrowed brow and pursed lips). Now I've got to make all the cards and get them printed. I hope the people who gave us something 5 weeks ago will understand.

Menu planning just isn't happening. I am giving it serious thought and feeling guilty about not doing it, but I feel really fortunate if I can at least get to the store and pick up some fruit. I've been staying core, but it's mostly canned stuff that I can grab without thinking about it.

I want to get back to cooking fabulous recipes -- I really enjoyed eating the great core meals. Maybe I'll shoot for one or two meals a week. Right now I'm just trying to figure out some semblance of a routine. Oh yeah, and to look for a job. :D
