I can see you now, flitting around the dressing room. Preening and prancing my grandmother used to say! I know that made you feel great!! I've got a skinny sil I would like to go shopping with when I get to goal!

Last night DH fixed me a bowl of healthy choice ice cream, a serving size in his mind (about 3 scoops) I was stressed and tired, I wasn't going to eat any though. He said, "baby are we in this long term or just until weigh in thursday?" I realized that he had a good point. I am very big on denying myself these kinds of pointy treats because I like to make good progress every week, but then when it comes time to maintain I have no experience dealing with these items. So I ate some, but I didn't eat it all, just a scoop and a half or so! I can't remember when I last left ice cream in a bowl!

Hey where's everyone's positive self-talk??

I have had a lot of NSFs (non-scale failures) lately, but I had a good NSV yesterday. A lady who works in our office one day a week looked at me and said, "Have you lost a lot of weight?" I said, "A little bit, yeah." She said she could really tell. She looked concerned or something. I wanted to say, hey, I've got 50 more where those came from. But it was nice anyway.

Maybe you're losing inches even though not a large amount of pounds?

septembersgoal 08-18-2005 07:16 PM

I can definitely tell a difference in my clothes. That's more motivating to me than the scale anyway!

Vickie 08-18-2005 07:17 PM

I'm a slave to the metal monster!

pureTcrazy 08-18-2005 09:25 PM

(((Vickie))) Hopefully next week the monster will show a nicer side!

I had 3 different people in the last 2 days comment on how much weight I had lost. Probably cause I squeezed into a pair of old size 10 jeans from when I rewarded myself at 150 doing points! I have noticed one thing, when I wear better fitting clothes, people notice the loss where they haven't noticed when I was wearing the baggier clothes that I have been wearing. We definitely have to learn to dress in fitted clothes instead of tents!

I agree Rita. I have clothes in all sizes from 6 to 18, and some of my favorites are bigger. I've noticed that even though they're my favorites, they don't look or feel as good because they don't fit right. It's strange having clothes that are genuinely too big for me. I've heard that to ensure a correct fit, the clothes should skim your body, not hug, or hang. :)

OK, this isn't a very good one, but for me (today) it is a NSV. I only ate half of a brownie today at work. That's hard for me!

OK, I have another. Tonight at the coffeehouse I did not have ONE SINGLE cookie, brownie, or anything else--I ate fruit!!!

Vickie 08-27-2005 12:08 AM

The road to success on this program is started with good decisions at a single meal. String them all together! You were great tonight!
