satisfying sunday fares

  • we're going on a picnic so i need to start planning.

    b--shredded wheat, homemade granola, 1/2 banana, granular splenda, ff milk
    l--sandwich made with 1 pt of bread, mustard, ham, ff cheddar, ff swiss, lettuce. granola bar (3 pts)
    s--banana, baby carrots
    d--lo corn, chili beans and salmon patties, ketchup
    s--blackberries

    i'll prob have to come back and do some editing tomorrow.
  • I am trying to figure out my menu as I do this. I am really gonna try to work on my water today.
    B - Grits, eggs and sliced real ham
    L - "fried" venison cubed steak, brown rice, peas & butter beans
    S - leftovers??? soup???
  • Breakfast: 1 1/2 cups shredded wheat and bran with skim and 1/4 cup fresh blueberries

    Lunch: LO mashed potatoes and LO Core meatloaf with ketchup

    Snack: FF cottage cheese and pineapple

    Dinner: Spring Mix salad with tomatoes, mushrooms, and FF honey dijon; LO Smothered Barly Chicken, fresh green beans with smart balance (points)

    Snack: Maybe popcorn
  • well, i had a plan anyway. we overslept and didn't make it to the picnic. here's what's actually taking place foodwise today.

    b--slept through it
    l--(almost slept through this one, too.) "fried" cornmeal chicken in 1 teaspoon olive oil, lo chili beans and lo ff gravy
    s--banana, vanilla pudding, ff sour cream, ff milk, granular splenda, homemade granola
    d--lettuce, rf beans, bell pepper, onion, fajita chicken, ff cheddar, salsa, 1 teaspoon olive oil drizzled over veggies
    s--blackberries, splenda


    2 dairy in the pudding
    2 teaspoons olive oil
    4 veggies,
    2 fruit

    i need to up my fruit/veggie intake
  • vickie, meatloaf and mashed potatoes sound heavenly.

    puret, (would you prefer to be called something else?), we eat a lot of venison, too. do you count yours as core? i do. it just makes sense to me. what do you think?

    B: 1 bagel, lf cream cheese, onions/tomatoes, smoked salmon, orange juice

    S: large piece of chocolate birthday cake

    L: nachos, ice cream bar

    D: 1 hot dog, 1 bun, 1/2 cup maple baked beans,corn on the cob
    another large piece of birthday cake.

    I can barely move now and am still very cranky!

  • Isn't it crazy how we think food will make us feel better, and then it just leaves us feeling bad in other ways? Why do we do that to ourselves???
  • Sandra, I am Rita. Yes, I count venison as core. I also use ground venison for all my crumbled hamburger kind of dishes and count it as core. I ended up having Balsamic/pineapple glazed chicken, mashed cauliflower w/1 potatoe mixed in for the 3 of us, and brussell sprouts. I have sf/ff banana & pineapple pudding for dessert.
  • hi, rita. sorry i forgot your name. i count venison as core, too. i also use venison burger. your dessert sounds good. i'm having banana pudding with homemade (core) granola on top.
