Fat free margarine

Has anyone tried this? Is it good?

I have a recipe for creamed spinach that calls for 1 tbs of it. I was going to use butter, but that would be three points. Before I buy the ff margarine, I wanted to know if it tasted alright.

Anyone?

If you're talking about Promise Fat Free margarine, yes it has a wonderful taste. Tastes just like butter to me. It doesn't toast on bread well, though. That's about all I've used it for as far as cooking. I made mexican cornbread last night, though (3 points per slice, 6 slices per package) and put the fat free margarine on it. It was great!!!! I coulda ate all 6 pieces of cornbread...luckily, my husband and son liked it as well, therefore I only had 2 pieces and 2 bites of another!
Hope this helps!

Definitely - thank you.

I'm going to try to find that brand at my supermarket.

I've never seen Promise fat free. All the FF I could find was spray and it was awful. Let me know if you find the Promise, Terry.

I have bought both the ICBINB spray and the Parkay spray. I put them on toast, oatmeal, chicken, vegetables ... pretty much everything! There are no calories and thus, no points and thus, totally Core. And it has a great butter taste! Even Judd will put it on his toast and that's saying a lot!

I guess I should try it again? :o

I just bought some of the parkay spray but haven't tried it yet.

the promise is hard to find. I do most of my groc. shopping at walmart and they only have it half the time. I think Brookshire's carries it though.

I couldn't find Promise, but I bought a tub of ICBINB fat free.

I really like butter -- and I can certainly believe that this stuff is NOT butter -- but it tastes pretty good and worked in my recipe.

In the Chicago area, you can find it at Dominick's. Dominick's is part of Safeway, so those of you with Safeway's might have it too.

another consideration would be butterbuds or molly mcbutter. i use bb in cooking. i also have the promise ff spread. i just don't use it much. i like bb better for baking.
