Happy Thanksgiving, KatyMay, and welcome to the Core Support Board. There are many wonderful people on this board as you have not doubt seen! Questions, comments, and support are welcomed! How long have you been on Core and how have you been doing? Maybe you could tell us a little about yourself, including the type of food you normally eat in a day and what kind of exercise you do. We love to learn from each other. Hope you post often!

Just got home from my Thanksgiving celebration. I did great with Core today. Ate a little more than I should have but was really good about limiting the non-Core items that were going to cost me points. Just some dressing, a little gravy, and some margarine. Our Splenda cranberry sauce was very good and the crustless pumplin pie was fabulous. I didn't even miss the crust (or the rolls)!
Hope you all had a great day. Now back to the routine!

Welcome to the board katymay! I know you will enjoy it as much as I do. Everyone is such great support!
Congratulations Vickie on your weigh in and on doing fantastic with CORE!!! A little taste goes a long way in feeling that you are part of the holiday too! Keep up the great work.
Tonight was my weigh in and I was not expecting much as I went out to eat 2 days and had coffee shop muffin the other day. WOW I lost 1.6lbs. I asked my leader to weigh me again that I'don't believe it...........but I will take that!! Yea, it will keep me going all weekend I think.
I did not track my core last week but I have to this week. Otherwise I think I might slip again going out to eat.
I am going to try the crustless pumpkin pie at Christmas. Sounds yummy!!!
HAPPY Thanksgiving everyone,

Hello to everyone. I have been on and off Core since Sept. I have lost 7 lbs and down one size. Seems like the inches are coming off before the weight. I feel better eating the core way. Has anyone else noticed clothes fitting looser with slow loses? Going to do best I can during holidays and after yesterday would rather eat healthy than feel miserable today. The regular pie wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Thanks for all you comments and help.

Yes, katymay, I've noticed that too. Even though the loss has slowed down a little, I'm still wearing smaller clothes.
I didn't do that well yesterday, just went off of the whole plan. I have a bad cold and high temp, and wore myself out cooking a bunch of food that's all leftover because we only had 5 people over to eat but had enough food for 20!!! At least I don't have to cook for the rest of the weekend and can sit in the recliner to recuperate.
Next week I vow to be better. My SIL/BIL are going to be here for Christmas and I want it to be very, very evident that I've lost quite a bit since I saw them last. I'm determined to get the last 6-8 pounds off by Christmas.

Bindy, hope you are feeling better real soon.
I too find that my clothes are fitting looser! In fact, today I put on a pair of 'those'jeans from days gone by and they are too big! Love it.

Frannie and Kathy, great to hear from you. Even though I enjoyed it, I'm relieved that Thanksgiving is over. Now I have four weigh ins before Christmas. I hope to lose at least another 5 or 6 pounds. I have to change my chick again before Christmas!
Kathy, I'm sorry you're sick. I bet it was horrible to cook when you didn't feel good. Be careful of those leftovers. Sounds like you need some good soup to make you feel better. Chicken and whole wheat noodles?
KatyMay, I have DEFINTELY noticed inches coming off faster than the number of pounds. I have clothes that are fitting now that I didn't think I'd be able to wear for at least 10 more pounds. Woo Hoo! An extra Core benefit.

Thanks, Frannie and Vickie. I broke down and went to the doctor this morning and of course the first thing they do is try to herd you on the scale! I said, "You've got to be kidding!! The day after Thanksgiving, plus I'm wearing all these bulky clothes, and you want me to weigh??" The doctor said it was viral and more or less, too bad so sad! He recommended zinc lozenges and Zicam and wrote two Rx's, one for cough medicine and one for a stuffy nose in case I get it.
So now I get serious and hope that feeling bad will give me a jumpstart to getting back on the Core wagon! A lack of appetite isn't really a good way to do it, but I'll take whatever I can. If I have to be sick, I'll look for that silver lining!

So I saved up all my extra points for pie yesterday, had a few slivers of a few different kinds, and felt horrible afterwards! I felt like I was going to throw up, and I had to lie down for a long time. Ugh, must have been all that sugar after not having any for so long. I have another Thanksgiving meal tomorrow, and I've learned my lesson! Stick with the turkey and other "real" food.
Anyone else noticed this happening when eating lots of sugar?
Angela

Angela, my Niece said she felt sick yesterday after having a small piece of mincemeat pie. I'm guessing our systems doin't like the sugar once we are off of it! I felt fine but then I didn't do any processed sugar. Just some bread in the stuffing and fat in the gravy.

Ok, I'm having a hard time getting on the treadmill. Do you think several hours of putting up the Christmas tree counts for anything? I put 1200-1500 lights on a 7 1/2 foot tree!

Good Morning Ladies,
Sorry, I lost you guys for a while. However, I am so happy I found you again. I need to start again on CORE--I have been just messing around. I did walk on the treadmill on Thanksgiving as well as yesterday and I find that this is the key for me. I need to exercise as well as stay on CORE. Reading all your posts and how well you are all doing really gives me incentive to try again and get with the program.
Hope everyone is having a "great" day!
Take care,
Nita

Nita, glad you're back. You can count on me to be here for at least the next three years! I am putting the lights on the tree as soon as I eat lunch. That will really put me in the Christmas spirit!
