Happy 4th, everyone!

We are going to our church's annual fish fry in a bit. Should be a lot of fun. We're taking archery gear. There will also be a 17' waterslide and bounce house.

I'm OP.

Sloan and Nancy, I haven't been doing so well either. But, here's what I'm going to do next week. I'm replacing two meals a day with a protein mix called "Gladiator" from Smoothie King. It has almost no carbs and lots of protein. I'm going to eat one meal of Core foods, and I'll chose that meal depending upon the day and what is going on here at home. I'll eat some healthy snacks, fruit, cheese or nuts.

I am going to be very strict because I have to go to Toronto for a wedding in early August and I want MORE weight OFF OFF OFF.

We saw some great fireworks last night. I was very impressed. I didn't want to go, but I'm glad I did. Tonight I'm going to watch the doings in Washington on TV.

Rhonda...
I am joining you with 2 protein shakes /day and one healthy meal.
As long as I can eat once a day I think I can do this. They keep me
satisfied. Where do you get the protein mix. Is Smoothy King a store
or brand??

ps...I just looked them up and found a store near me ..
I am going to try this mix !!! It looks great...

Rhonda and Nancy, I'm not sure about the protein shakes 'cause I'm a big baby when it comes to things that taste funny to me, and I've never had a protein shake that tastes good. I'm going to do some research and see what I can find. I had thought of doing the south beach phase 1, so I may start with that. I'll let you know what my plans are tomorrow.

We had a family gathering tonight with swimming, ribs, and fireworks. It was very nice, but my mom and sis were having a hard time. I know it will be tough for a while and all of us will have our ups and downs. I tried to tell my mom and sis that when they were feeling down they should surround themselves with family, but I'm not sure they bought it. They both wanted to go home, but stayed to see the fireworks.

I hope all of you had a great day and enjoyed something fun!

You girls are impressing me with your shakes. I'm just taking it slow and easy trying to make better choices.

We went to our church's fish fry and fireworks display this evening. We had a great time. Curtis worked with a lot of kids and adults with archery. I think they all enjoyed themselves.

I'm op.

Can we share links to recipes/sites on this forum???
This is an amazing recipe I tried that was easy.
One reviewer said they bought whole chickens on sale.
Then they applied the rub & froze them. I am going to try that.
I can put one in the frig(from the freezer) and cook it the next day.

That recipe does look good. I imagine it will stay up on the boards.

I use two protein shakes, both from Smoothie King. One is Dutch Chocolate Muscle Milk Light and the other is the Gladiator, vanilla. I mix berries in them. I like the Gladiator taste better, but sometimes I want the chocolate and the Muscle Milk is OK. I buy the powders and mix them in a blender.

Sloan, I wish your family well. It's really tough figuring out how to handle grief. Sometimes alone is it, and sometimes it's not.
