Rhonda, go to your doctor. We just started going to an allergy specialist and have high expectations for feeling better. We've both had coughs, fatigue, and several other symptoms. All seemed like colds but have turned out to be allergies.
Have fun tonight. I'm so happy ya'll are near and getting to do a lot with family. Makes me smile.
Paula, I'm sorry dd's sick. What a bummer way of spending vacation time.
Maryann, sounds like you're a busy lady. How is your eating going? Mine is struggling. Guess Some things never change.
Sloan, are you hoarse today after being back in school? I used to get that way.
Nancy, I'm glad you're feeling better. Could your problem be allergies? We're having a devil of a time with ours.
I had one of those no- calorie Margaritas again. I ate 8 chips with salsa, then had tilapia and vegetables. But, they were done in a lot of butter, I'm sure. So, no telling how many calories I ate tonight.
Sandra, I don't have a doctor here!! I guess it's time to find one. I hear this is a bad spot for allergies.
Well, I stayed the same again this week. Not sure whats going on. I think I need to journal a lot this week coming up to see what might be throwing me off. I have been eating more carbs this past week, I think I need to cut those out. I'm finally in the 180s but barely! All I can do is keep at it.
DD is starting to feel better. She should be fine by Monday, just in time to go back to school. DH is taking her to see his mom today - she's brining her pillow, blanket, snuggle bear and DS.
Maryann, great picture. I did find a B&B for us at the end of March -- its on 6A in Barnstable. Its been far too long since DH and I have poked around shops on the cape. It should be fun. Now, just need to figure out what weekend MIL can take DD.
Rhonda, today is a new day! Just tell Todd what you ate, he'll get you to work it off
Hi to everyone else!! Got to get moving. Have a good morining
Maryann, that is a great photo. Thank you for posting it.
Rhonda, thank you for letting me share your margarita. When indoor season's over, I'd like for us to get together and maybe have one each. Or maybe just share a glass of water. I just want to see you. Yes, this area is famous for allergy problems. I was never sick from allergies in Montana--something to be said for those mountains. I'd suggest our allergist but I'm sure you have a good number of good ones in your area.
Vickie, I hope life settles down for you. You're missed, girl.
Paula, staying the same can be depressing, but it's better than gaining by far. Just keep track and keep on keepin' on.
This is our last weekend before USA Archery Indoor Nationals. We do have a small tournament tomorrow that we're using as warmup. Other than that, I'll do 30 min and watch what I eat. Sounds a bit boring, doesn't it? But sometimes boring is good.
It was snowing when I got up and now the sky is clear.
Had a bad morning, woke up and cried myself to sleep again, but now I Ok again, surprisingly how one moment can be sad and than the next happy again.
My friend came over and help me fit my sofa slip-covers, she did an excellent job. Now it keep it that way, without messing it up again.
Going out with my friends again Sat Night for pizza, going to take 1 slice
and have a huge salad with it,can't afford to not lose at this Monday W-I
Really like to get serious with my weight before it too late,so I'm hoping that giving up all kinds of snacks I will be able to lose this Lent season. Since Wed I'm eating lightly, with 3 meals[2 light 1 reg] a day. Have my fruit & milk prod. with main meal.I must get this weight off by the end of this year.
Thanks for the kind words you say about the photo. That pix was taken several years ago when Leo's best friend was over hear visiting us.
NANCY-I try to keep my hand busy, and I finely have my slip cover on correctly Hope I can remember what my friend did to make them look so nice, before i take them off when they need washing.
SANDRA-I'm trying to eat like I posted above, hopefully it will work with my CC/PC plan.
PAULA-Happy your found a place that open,I sure you MIL will be able to help with your DD.
Hi everybody! I've got a busy week coming up, but it's fun stuff so that's good! We got our tax refund today, so with part of it, we're buying a new chest freezer. Woo hoo, so exciting. But I am excited to have more freezer room. Tonight's supper and freezer food is mini pizzas made with refrigerated biscuit dough. I figure the kids will enjoy making those themselves when I'm busy with baby.
I am seriously thinking of homeschooling my 8-year old next year. She could really use some quiet time at home with mom and away from a bad 4th grade teacher and some pretty icky classmates. We shall see how that goes!
I was so happy last night - I found a sleep position that's almost like sleeping on my tummy. I'm such a tummy sleeper, and it always makes me sad and uncomfortable when I'm pregnant and I can't! That's one of the first things I do that first night in the hospital after having the baby...roll over and go "aaaah!"
I was in a terrible mood yesterday, but I did manage to think of ONE positive thing about being huge and pregnant...my complexion has improved. There. One good thing in a sea of uncomfortable-ness. I suppose the baby is positive too. Ha ha.
I hope everyone has a nice restful weekend and stays on whatever plan you happen to be following.
Maryann Just keep cherishing your memories. We're here for you. Enjoy your night out with friends. Pizza and lots of salad sounds good.
Angela, congrats on getting your new freezer. That's going to come in really handy.
I just did a few minutes and am now just chilling. This week I've felt retired again. I enjoy subbing, but I've been missing my time off. I won't sub again until after we get home from USA Archery Indoor Nationals the first of March. I've been turning down several chances to sub, but that's all right. I've needed the time for myself.
Hi..I'm just passing through and I have to be up early in the morning to take my great niece to watch her daddy run a half marathon. I'll be back on-line tomorrow.
I am too tired to post much either..
We all seem to be about other stuff tonight
I am almost well..
Son is making homemade pretzels which are hard to resist.
I had 1/2 ..yummy
More tomorrow.
Mornin' chicks! Dad has had his port inserted and all of his tests. We will get test results on chemo day which has been moved to next Friday. I will be with him on Friday as the "chemo teaching" will be done on that day. I am taking my parents to see an "elder law specialist" in a couple of weeks. He and his team advise senior citizens on finances, health care decisions, and other concerns, so I'm really looking forward to hearing what he has to say. We are also working on getting my parents moved, so I have a lot going on in addition to the ongoing remodeling, school, and life in general. I am keeping my eating under control, but I'm still carrying the 7 pounds that I gained before Christmas. ugh!
Nancy, I'm glad you are getting better. Home made pretzels sound awesome! I'm impressed that you had such a small amount.
Rhonda, how did the marathon go? It sounds like you are really enjoying your family. I'll bet it's great to ge so close to them.
Sandra, did you already tell us where your next tournament is? If so, I missed it.
Maryann, I think a good cry is important every now and then. The important thing is that you recover from it and get busy with friends and other interests. I think you sound like you are doing great. Don't forget we are always here and we're thinking about you!
Angela, sorry your girl is not happy at school. It's so hard to see them that way. How old is your other daughter?
Vickie, glad to hear from you. Come back soon!
Paula, I'm glad your girl is improving. Being sick on a break from school is the pits! Your visit to the B&B sounds nice.
My weekend is shaping up to be busy with grocery shopping, laundry, school work, etc. I may also paint some in the upstairs bathroom. Hope you guys get more rest than I do! BBL
Last night while using my computer I heard a popping noise ever so often. What could that be????? Now I don't hear it anymore, but my Face book disappeared. The computer is going to be the death of me with all the things I experiences.
Feeling a lot better this morning, called a friend and she made me feel oh so much better.I got out of the house for a while and went to Christmas Tree Shop and bought a basil start kit for $1.99. Now to find a sunny spot by the window once I start the planter kit.
ANGELA-I got my State Refund back yesterday also, its that a good feeling, that made me happy. Can use all the cash to keep the bill collector away from my door I don't blame you for having an idea to home school the dis today. With all the public schools not teaching the 3 R's .We're lucky that our grand kids are going to a really good school and that all they learn is the 3 R[reading writing and arithmetic. Wish you all the best education is so important now a days.
SANDRA-Yes that's what I'm going do, we had a great retirement life up here on the Cape and I won't give that up. I rather be a alone with my memories than to be back down in NY and with my children.I see now that they have there own lives and I don't fit into it,as not even a phone call or a e-mail from either of them. That latter is what made me up set. But a man in our bereavement group told us the same thing.Once a spouse dies friends [couples] and family seem to think you have the plague and won't see or call you. Sorry for whining but I now see the loneliness that coming in the future.THANKS GOODNESS I HAVE YOU GUYS ON MY BOARDS TO COME TOO.
SLOAN=Your father will like the port better than to get poked all over the arm. The nurse gave us some cream & plastic wrap bandage to put on before you go for the chemo treatment it made the skin area numb so the needle inserted didn't hurt.
I can't Lose either Sloane the pounds will come off once the stress wears off.Yes like I posted to Sandra I will think of old memories and take one day at a time with my new friends. Today I happy again, and looking forward to girls night out with a good slice of pizza UMMMM!! Can't wait.
Have to get ready for the day,see you later or other wise have a great weekend.
Maryann, have you told your children that it hurts your feelings when they don't call you, and do you call them? I can speak from an adult child's standpoint and say that sometimes my parents, especially my dad, feel a little unappreciated (for lack of a better word) when I don't keep in touch with them. It usually goes like this: my mom calls and tells me that my dad has been asking her if I have called lately, so I call him and ask him why he hasn't called to check on me He usually gives a little chuckle, but I know he wishes I would call more often. We live in the same town, so I really don't have an excuse for not calling them or going by to check on them. As do most people, I let my busy life get in the way of the things I should consider most important. You should call them if they don't call you! Maybe you could ask them if it would be okay if you call them weekly on a certain day, so you can keep up with what is going on in eachothers' lives. I know I would not mind if my parents did that. In fact, it would take some pressure off of me, and would also make me more aware of my lack of communication with them.
