Nancy, corn meal is core. It's great in recipes.
|
Hey chicks, busy day today! Breakfast with my parents, work on the house, then went with niece for foot surgery, now I am finally settled for the evening. My DS and DH just ran out, so I'm alone for now. It's nice to have some quiet!
Maryann, I'm still prayin' for Leo. Hey to the rest of you chickies! Have a nice evening :D |
Good Morning Chicks! This morning I'll be exercising and getting ready for the TV repairman to come. We have a Sony big screen that feels like it's always broken lately. Good thing we have an extended warranty until April 2011!
Then I'll be shopping at Carson's this afternoon. I couldn't find any good choices at my favorite stores yesterday. I hope I can fit into their 3X. Sometimes they've run small in the past. Hope you are all well, exercising and drinking your water. My scale is up this morning after my restaurant meal. Sigh. I'm trying to stick to 1500 as many days as I can. |
:welcome2: TLC!
We are very supportive and informative group...join in. I bought some scales and we'll see if my friend pitches them out! I have lost a few more pounds but not as many as I'd hoped. But, I'll tell you for sure that my body is changing shape, in a good way. The exercise is good. I'm having a rough week at work, but what else is new? It's in the job description! I'm enjoying staying with my friend. She runs a day care and one of the little boys who told me that he is "two and a lot" has a big crush on me. And, vice versa. Sandra, don't tell my DH; he might get jealous  My eating has been good. I did just have a sandwich, but it was a healthy one! I still need more protein I think. Rhonda |
Rhonda, I think you're an awesomely funny chick! Congratulations on the pounds. The weight loss is going slow for me too.
|
Hey chicks, I've had another busy day. I,too, am having scale issues, but I'm the one who wants to throw them out. Do I remember that Paula was having issues with keeping scales in the bathroom? Paula, what have you done? Are you keeping your scales somewhere else? Did you buy a new scale or just move yours to another place. I have a new scale, but it already is acting crazy. I can get on and off three or four times in a row, and the weight is different each time. Since I don't like what it is saying I'm even more frustrated.
Rhonda, from now on when someone asks me how old I am, I am going to say "fifty and a lot". I love that! I am, as always, impressed with your dedication to exercise. Way to go :carrot: Vickie, did you look at those calorie calculators I told you about? I'm really concerned that you aren't eating enough, and that your metabolism might slow down. I hope you are doing okay! Welcome TLC ! GTG get some supper for my DH. TTFN |
Sloan, my DH says that he is "29 plus tax" and the tax rate is killing him.
I'm going to bed early tonight, Chickies. We have a 7AM :exercise: class in the morning, in the park. The temperature is predicted to be above freezing, so let's hope so. Good night  Rhonda |
Rhonda, I love your sense of humor. And congratulations on your successes. You're looking great. Now get some rest this weekend.
Vickie, did you find some new clothes? My weightloss is going slowly, too. I am down about 9 pounds now, but I don't think I'm going to lose a pound this week. (and I know why) |
Frustrated tonight with housework and the lack of help I get
with cooking/laundry/cleaning/errands/bills and all the other million things to do .. Our family will go without milk for a week instead of someone else picking any up. I can never come up with a cleaning schedule that works. Hubby says he will vacuum weekly for me but forgets unless I remind him 20 times. Tonight ..Hubby asked me if I wanted help folding laundry (after I hinted)and I snapped "I wouldn't want you to miss a show!!" and everyone thought I was a nice person.... Good news is that my weight is down 3 pounds and back to the weight I have posted on my tracker (I could not bare to move it up when I gained those 3 pounds) So now I am really at 139..not just pretending to be :carrot: |
Ah Nancy, we've all been there. Good luck with that!
Congrats on the 3 pounds lost. I've been to :exercise: and today includes visiting some friends and continuing to sort out STUFF! Have a great day everyone. Rhonda |
Thanks Sloan. I only got to check one website and it said 1800! I'm not sure I trust the website I chose so I need to do some more searching for reliable sites. I'd be interested if you have a calorie counting one that you trust. I recalculated my WW points last night. I'd get 31 points. I'd always heard that the value of a point is 50 calories. That would put me at 1550 for a minimum plus up to another 250 calories a day if I divided the 35 WPA's out over the week. So that would be 1550 to 1800 a day. Close to what that other calculator said. If that's true, I don't know why I stopped losing at the 1700 mark. That was why she lowered me to 1500 calories. I'm agreeing that it too low for me.
Congratulations Nancy! Job well done. I've got a birthday party tonight. I'm bringing my food with me because it's at my Sister's house. Have a great day everyone! |
Sandra, I didn't get to Carsons yet. I have to go tomorrow. I ran out of time because the TV repairman came to late. I'm going tomorrow after I walk on the treadmill.
What does everyone have planned for the weekend? |
Well, here's what I'm doing for the weekend.
I've been to lunch in Chinatown with a friend (never mind what I ate!). Tonight I'm doing nothing but sorting through stuff. Tomorrow is :ebike: more spinning, then visiting with former MIL and then more nothing...if I'm lucky. This upcoming week is going to be very tough. Some governance committees are considering the fate of the unit I head and I expect student-led protests. Look for us on the news  Stay on program everybody! (that means don't eat Chinese food!) Rhonda |
Hey chicks, how does pistachio nuts and blush wine compare with chinese food?
Rhonda, I really need help!! If I only ate chinese food I'd be doing well :D Oh, I love "29 and tax" that's a good one, too! Vickie, I'm so proud to hear about you taking your own food to the party. I'm going to a birthday party tomorrow and will not be taking my food  I did look at Mayo Clinic's site. They say you need to cut 500 calories from your daily intake to lose a pound a week. If you use their calorie calculator to determine how many calories you need to maintain then subtract 500, that should put you in the ballpark. I would trust that site, since Mayo has such a good reputation. Nancy, 139 is awesome! I've gained a couple of pounds and want to get back to 128 before Christmas. Also, I have the answer to the cleaning issue: live in a mess! If nobody else cares, then you should just relax! Do some things that you enjoy and pace yourself on the cleaning. Do you have a lot of drop in guests? Just keep the living room clean and don't worry about the rest. If that doesn't work then there is a book I can recommend. It is called Get Your Act Together, and it is by the Slob Sisters. It has some good ideas and will make you laugh. I'm so tired from house organizing and projects, but I've got to work on the dreaded "layered curriculum" for next week. Wish me luck! TTFN |
Nancy, been there done that. Hang in there. And :woohoo: on losing those 3 lbs!
Rhonda, I wish you the best for the coming week. Sounds stressful. Sloan, what is layered curriculum? Sometimes I think education needs to return to its roots. But what do I know? I do know that 8th graders I had in math the other day didn't know their multiplication facts--and they also didn't know how to act in class. (Am I sounding old?) Night night. |
