What can I eat for breakfast?
In my quest to have starch only one time per day, I'm having a tough time planning breakfast. I also have some other issues to add to the mix, I think I'm lactose intolerant. Lately, milk has been causing some awful digestive issues. So, any suggestions that do not include starch or milk?

Eggs.
I eat them most days for breakfast. Sometimes I make a breakfast bowl with eggs, some chopped garden tomatoes, maybe a 1/4 avocado. No starch. Sometimes I do eat my eggs on a low carb whole wheat wrap. You could add a slice of turkey bacon (only 35 calories) or a boca sausage patty if you want a little bigger breakfast. Another staple in our house (mainly for DH) is a smoothie - I use almond milk, frozen berries, maybe a half frozen banana. I do usually put some plain yogurt in too for thickness. Not sure if yogurt upsets your stomach as milk does. Again, no starch. Good luck! |
I eat a lot of eggs for breakfast too... I usually boil them and arrange them on a platter with ff cheeses and fruit. Another option is a ff cheese omelette loaded with veggies...
Hopefully that will help! :) Enjoy! |
My sister just called and shes on low carbing and told me that she had broccoli & cauliflower for breakfast.I know Ughh!! but if you can't have carb or milk prods. Veggies and eggs are you best bet.
I have a web site where you can go for low carb breakfast, and its allowed to post on the 3fc. its Linda's low carb recipes http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/recipes.html The girls on the low carb board swear by it,it has helped lots of low carbers.Give it a try by looking for recipes that you can fit into the core program Hope that helps Hugs:) |
Cottage Cheese and fruit, eggs, ham or canadian bacon. Why only 1 starch a day - it's not good to eliminate whole grains.

Susan-I'm just trying to jump start my weight loss. I've been on a plateau for a few weeks. Wow, I was looking at your weight loss. How have you done it?

Sloan, try making egg cups. What I do is sautee my favorite veggies -- onions, peppers, broccoli or spinach, add some diced candian bacon or lean ham. Take that mixture and loosly fill a sprayed muffin pan, top with ff or soy cheese. Then I just take a carton of egg substitute and fill each cup.
Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes (until the egg is cooked). These freeze well and are quick to grab and microwave. Enjoy! |
Fruit salad?
