Lytricia...I don't have a hot tub, and that's a problem! No room for it, and if I did have one, there's be no room in it because the racoons would take over!!!! :yikes:

ontarget 11-07-2007 10:01 PM

Lytricia, we had a hot tub when we had the house in Montana. I used to love to be out in the snow.

Coco, I still have almost 200 bulbs and several shrubs/rose bushes to plant. Tomorrow I'm having lunch at school with Kennedy (8). After lunch I'll get back to work in the yard. Thank you for the compliment. The place is starting to shape up, but it still has a long ways to go.

Girls, I got in oodles of physical activity today. I unloaded 61 bags of top soil (40 lbs each) out of that giant pickup of ours. That means I also had to climb into it again. We went to Lowe's today. I bought 61 bags of potting soil, another geranium, a purple sage, 2 holly bushes, and more pansies.

I unloaded the topsoil and spread half of it in the flowerbeds before pooping out. What I am most proud of is--I came inside, showered, then cooked a Core dinner. We had porkchops/oo/seasonings, pinto beans, and new potatoes. I am 100% Core again today. I used 3 wpa's. Life is good.

We had a cool front come through so our temps have been in the 60's the past 2 days. They are to be back in the 80's after tomorrow. We are having a blast!!

Curtis made major headways today with the plumbing. We're both feeling good. Toimorrow we'll do some archery training. The biggee tomorrow, though, is lunch with Kennedy.

Tejas 11-08-2007 10:15 AM

Hi All:

Sandra...will you even be able to move in order to have lunch? Kennedy might have to serve you in bed!! ;)

So, I'm doing well today also. Had my oatmeal, lf milk and an apple. Will try to stay OP the rest of the day also. I've got a lunch time meeting and they're usually really non-Core....we'll see what happens.

Have a great day, all....BBL

Hi Chicks! I lost at the gambling boat yesterday but we were there for 7 hours and had a ball.

No exercise Tuesday or Wednesday so I'm going to try to get some today. Jim has the ENT visit today to follow up on his tongue cancer and with the Shoulder Ortho surgeon tomorrow. In between we are going to have the first of our anniversary dinners tonight. The second will be on our actual anniversary which is Saturday. We are also meeting a friend for breakfast tomorrow morning before the Doctor's appointment. Life is really fun lately except for the darned Doctor appointments.

I'm still struggling with my water but so far have been on program except for the one meal yesterday.

I hope you are all well.

Lytricia 11-08-2007 12:18 PM

weighed in at ww today :( gained .8! i don't know where I went wrong. Not only am I doing core but I am also careful to not go over my allotted 22 points per day! I make sure that I don't exceed my 35 wpa's and although I haven't been exercising much I have been doing a major cleaning in my house (basement, moving furniture etc) Now I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Someone at the ww meeting suggested that I start making stews in the Crockpot that are all core, has anyone got a good idea for that?

Vickie 11-08-2007 12:23 PM

Lytricia, don't panic. This used to happen to me all the time. I'd lose a big amount and then I'd gain or stay the same. Stick with it. And.....you MUST drink a lot of water with Core. I don't know why...probably all the fiber. Also check your satisfaction level. That's my struggle.

I can't help you with the crockpots but there are many recipes on our site. I can highly recommend some of the casseroles. Many of them freeze very well for quick meals. My meat sauce is awsome and it only requires me to cook fresh pasta and make a salad or veggies to go with it.

Vickie 11-08-2007 12:25 PM

P.S. You will need to exercise at some point. I'm guessing that it's possible that your recent lifetsyle activity you could be retaining water in your inflamed muscles. Drink more water to flush.

Also, are you following the healthy guidelines....daily oil, 2 milks...etc?

coco99 11-08-2007 07:17 PM

Hi Everyone
Not much happening here.
Just thought I would get on and see what was going on.
ONTARGET OH MY!! You still have alot of work ahead of you planting all those bulbs. But the finished project will be beautiful. Sounds as if you are getting in alot of exercise. How did your lunch go. I bet you had a great time.
VICKIE Glad you had a great time on the boat. how's the Dr's appt going. Have a great time with your friends.
LYTRICIA Sorry about your gain. But you will get if off by next week. Maybe you had something with a little more salt in it. Like Vickie said make sure you get your water in. I know right now though. With the cooler weather I am having a harder time getting my water in.
TEJAS Sounds like you are on track. How did the lunch go. Hope you had a good one.
Well I am going to get off here for now.
Hope everyone had a great day.
Thinking of each of you.
coco

Hi there. Just took 2 Aleve. I am sooooo tired and sore. I transferred the last 23 bags of top soil to the back bed this evening. Would you believe I need at least 20 more bags?

Rhonda, I had a great time at lunch with Kennedy this AM. I confess I was a little sore getting up and down of those elementary benches in the cafeteria.

Vickie, I'm glad you and Jim went to the boat and had a great time. Enjoy your anniversary celebrations.

Lytricia, that's good advice Vickie's giving you. Don't give up. You'll lose those pounds.

Coco, how's your day going? The highlight of mine was lunch with Kennedy. I got her a Subway sandwich and I took homemade Core chicken salad for me. Life is good.

Have a good evening, chickies. Eat right; drink lots of water, and move your bods.

Tejas 11-08-2007 10:03 PM

Move our bods she says. I have yet to figure out how to do that while glued to the dadgum computer so much these days. It's almost all I can to stretch and work in a few floor exercises at night....ok, that's enough whining.

Lytricia, don't worry. Just stick to it; it will work.

Well, the lunch was a little tough because it was sandwiches. I ate two, but took 1/2 the bread off of each. That was the best I could do. But, that's not bad.

OK, bedtime!

Rhonda

Rhoinda, I understand ABout being on puters a lot. I am proud of you for doing stretching and floor exercises. Congratulations on making good choices at the dinner.

Tejas 11-09-2007 09:00 AM

Morning all:

I've been working at the computer since 4:30 this morning (it's now almost 9AM) I took off 1/2 hour to read the paper and drink coffee.

Two days ago, we had someone come to look at our kitchen and laundry area to see if we can get some more work done on the cabinets. So, that work should start soon. I hope it works out. We're hiring someone who has done work for others in the neighborhood, but there's no formal contract...makes me a little nervous. It's strange to be so legalistic because I strongly support such informal connections....must be because it's not a small amount of money!

I'm headed out with the dog now. We both need a good jaunt, even though the weather is dreary...or maybe because it's so dreary.

Have a good OP day.

Rhonda

ps: I'm changing my goal to something more realistic.

Vickie 11-09-2007 09:27 AM

Rhonda and Sandra, I admire both of you. We all have our own obstacles. We just have to keep acknowledging that they are there as we push on by them. You both do a great job of that.

My life, too, is way too sedentary. I have no where near the upper body strength of Sandra but I'd like to get there. I'll be starting very very small because I don't want to reinjure my elbow. It's finally feeling better. I hurt my ankle by trying to increase the speed too much on the treadmill. Now I'm not walking AND eating non-Core foods at a couple of meals in celebration. NOT a good combination.

I've another busy day today and no bad food so it should be an OP day! Good luck to al of you.

ontarget 11-09-2007 09:30 PM

Vickie, you make me feel like Tarzana. Can you see me flexing my muscles? I think you're doing the right thing now celebrating your anniversary however you want. You and Jim deserve it. You are a strong woman and will be back op as soon as you can. As to the exercise? Just do what you can. I'm not able to treadmill either. My feet won't hold up.

Rhonda, I know what you mean about being nervous spending big bucks on remodeling. We're doing the same here.

I got up this am and finished spreading dirt. This afternoon I planted 2 gardenia bushes, 3 rose bushes, 1 Texas sage, 2 holly bushes and 1 something else that I can't remember right now.

We trained a bit today cuz we have a tournament in Dallas in the morning. We always eat granola bars when we're shooting. I have 6 pts reserved for mine. Life is good.

I am Core now 4 days in a row.

Rhonda, I should change my goal but I'm going to leave it as is right now. I might change it later.

Tejas 11-09-2007 10:53 PM

Hi All:

I'm off in the morning for a brief trip away...will be back on line probably Sunday night....have a good OP weekend and I'll check back in as quickly as I can.

We had a wonderful evening at my godson's house with his soon-to-be-wife and their absolutely gorgeous and out of control toddler (aren't they all!).

Rhonda
