TEJAS The canned fruit I used was in it own juice. Or the light kind. I dont use any canned fruit in heavy fruit. But I figured if I am eating fruit even though it is canned. It should be better than no fruit at all. Sometimes I wonder about my leader. She is a very nice lady.
But she also tells us. If we eat more than 4 cups of 0 point veggies. On the 5th cup we are to count a point. So not sure what to do about that.
There are times when I may eat 5 or 6 cups of veggies a day.Especially if I eat a salad. But then I figure if I am eating my veggies. And staying away from things that I shouldnt be having. I will eat all the veggies I want. And then I thought on CORE. You can have until you are satisfied. But there are times when I dont know when I am satisfied. So that is why I eat core foods. But count the points. Seems to be working. Have been having some losses.
Sorry about the book TEJAS.
Hope you had a good day.

Coco - I'm not sure I understand your leaders logic. If you're mixing together a bunch of 1 pt fruit for 1/2 cup serving and eat a 1/2 cup it would still be a point. The pudding would add a little. So I think your estimate of 3 pts for a cup is probably closer to the mark than 6-8. And I have never heard of counting points for veggies, in fact I had 1 leader who refused to count carrots and onions when they added a pt to them, she said "none of us are here from eating too many carrots, so for this class we're not counting them." I kind of miss her but she does meetings a ways away from here.

Sandra - are you all moved into the condo? or are you living in a motel?

Rhonda - sounds like you did well at the BBQ.

I didn't get a walk in yesterday :( I was feeling ichy and just couldn't drag my but back out. But I will be on plan today!!

Have a great day everyone.

I have read something on the WW site about not being able to count numerous servings of 0 point food as 0. But, I agree that no one got fat eating fruit and vegetables.

Coco, 5 to 6 servings of vegetables a day is good. Canada's Food Guide recommends 7-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day for middle-aged women. And, that should include dark green food and orange food, such as spinach, kale, broccoli, oranges, squash, etc.

OK, I did my floor exercises and free weights last night while we watched a movie. It felt good to me and didn't bother DH too much. Today is the day I re-start :exercise: one way or the other.

Have a great OP day.

I wonder if Sandra can find her computer among all the boxes  Or, maybe they've downsized so much they don't even have boxes!

Hi Everyone
Just thought I would check in for a few.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Not much happening here.
Thinking about baking some lean steak. There was no fat on this steak. For supper. Thought about adding some salsa to it. Not sure what else to have yet.
TECHALUM I am going to get my cans of fruit out. And see what the serving size is per fruit. And see if I can come up with the 6-8 point thing myself. I did have a cup at a time. So I am thinking maybe that is where the 6-8 is coming from. And as for the veggies. I think I am still counting them as zero. Unless I would add ff ranch or dip. Then count that. I dont know. I figure the more veggies I ate. And stayed away from the bad stuff that was good. Oh well what I have been doing has been working for me here lately. I have been having some losses. So I will stay with what I am doing. Have a great day. Hope you are feeling better.
TEJAS I will have to try and check out the WW site. I havent been on there in awhile. Good job on getting in your exercise during the movie. That is wonderful. Hope you are having a great day.
ONTARGET How is it going. Miss you. I know you are busy with the moving and all. But know that I am thinking of you.
Well am going to get off here.
Need to go check on the doggies. They left the room. So hard to tell what they are getting into.
Will check back later.

Coco add up all the points on the cans of fruit, add the points from the pudding and divide it by the number of servings you get from the mixture. That should give you the points per serving. Learning to listen to your body when its satisfied is one of the hardest lessons to learn on core. Eat one serving of whatever it is your eating...stop....walk away from the table. If you are still hungry then have one more..I find with myself if I put 4 servings of cauliflower on my plate for supper then I will eat all 4 servings of cauliflower. If I put 1 serving on..I may go back for another if Im still hungry but I will think about it first.
I find it much easier using fitday to count calories rather then points. Everything has calories..except water. We may not gain weight by eating carrots..but we wouldnt be here if we just ate carrots would we?

It is .7 miles from my office to the subway (there is a closer stop, but I use the one further away). When I leave work in the afternoon, I pass EIGHT trucks/vans selling Chinese food/hot dogs/pizzas/ice cream. And, that does not include at least 4 places inside buildings that sell coffee, chips, candy etc. No wonder the students gain weight!! I am not tempted by the fast foods, but the ice cream gets me sometimes. Then, when I walk home from the subway I pass two fast food places, two coffee shops, one drug store and one corner grocery. There is food absolutely everywhere. More often than not I just walk on by....a huge NSV!

Hi
Just thought I would get on here and see what is going on
I havent went and got my fruit cans to see about the points. But will.
TEJAS Congrats on passing all the eating places and not stopping. That is wonderful. Dont know if I would have your will power or not. I would probably not carry much money with me. Then I know I couldnt stop.
P.A. Thanks for the info on getting the points per serving.
Well my steak turned out good. I put pineapple peach salsa on it. And then I had a big salad. I fixed the guys some noodles to go with theirs.
Well I am going to get off here for now.
May go to the WW web site and look around a little bit. havent been there for a long time.
Thinking of each of you.

Hello All,

Need to keep this short so I can go up and start dinner. Probably won't be back until Monday night. Tomorrow we leave for up north. Keep :crossed: that the frost/freeze doesn't materialize, since I'll be in a tent. Had a pretty good nsv today, they had these cookies out at work and offered me some I didn't want any but when I got back from lunch I thought maybe I'd have just one, I flipped over the container and read the nutritional data and put it right back down w/o having any. No matter how good they looked they weren't worth that

Rhonda - yea on passing by all that food. Not sure I'd have that willpower particularly if I was hungry.

Patti - how's the walking coming?

Coco - your dinner sounds good. We're having 5 herb, tomato & goat cheese pasta :T. Not core but really good and not too high in pts (it's a Cooking Light recipe)

Well gotta go, it's a fast recipe but I still need to make it. Have a great weekend everyone.

TECHALUM That is wonderful you passed on the cookies. that took alot of will power. And right now I dont know if I would have that. I dont know what is going on with me the last couple of days. I am getting out of control again. And I dont like it. But dont know why I am doing this.
Have a wonderful time on your trip. Take pleny of warm clothes and alot of warm blankets. Cant wait for the details of your trip.

Tejas 09-14-2007 07:51 PM

Hi Coco:

Maybe it's you and me for the weekend?!

Well, I had a frightfully busy day, then had wine and pasta for dinner. Oh well, I ate only about a cup of pasta and it had just olive oil, mushrooms and chicken in it. Not the end of the world.

Tomorrow I am going to do as little as possible, and I hope everyone else enjoys themselves also.

See you here tomorrow, Coco.

Im here too gang..having a little trouble with my laptop its time it went in to get it checked. It keeps shutting down on me then I have to give it a rest.
Im still walking....only missed one day so far but managed to walk twice as far the next day to make up for it..I have a challenge coming up the end of the month..I have to go away for 3 days...not sure how I will get the walking in....have to think about that one.
Tech its become second nature to me now to check out the nutritional value on packaged foods...its amazing whats in that stuff.
Coco keep coming here when you feel the urge to nibble......it worked last time for you!! Do you have some Core snacks readily available to you?? Keep some cut veggies, sf pudding, ff cheese things like that around.
Wonder if Sandra made it yet??? hurry back Sandra we miss you!!
Rhanda that pasta sounded core to me? and yummy!!
Its a sunny day here today..its been so lousy here lately it actually snowed here yesterday it was so friggin cold! Im going for my walk this afternoon to walk in sunshine!!! (isnt that a song haha)

Tejas 09-15-2007 03:55 PM

Hi:

Patti, the pasta was white pasta, not ww. That's not Core, but it wasn't much.

Today we went out for brunch and I ate moderately. Tonight will be a bit of a challenge since I'm joining friends for a "girls' night out" birthday party. But, I'm kinda getting the hang of this after a year or so!

We're also going out to eat tomorrow...twice! But, the places we're going have lots of choices, I just have to make the right ones.

I'm going to do one of :exercise: tapes this afternoon. I've already taken Jake, my surviving dog, out for a long walk today and we walked at quite a clip for over 30 minutes. Maybe I'll take him out again.

Mostly I want to take a nap! It's a beautiful, crisp, cool day here today. Snow, already, Patti? You're a better woman than I am, I'll tell you. Brrrr...

Later,
Rhonda

Dh loved it...

Tejas 09-15-2007 10:51 PM

So much for saying I'm getting the hang of it!!

I was badddddd :yikes: enjoyed it though. OK, tomorrow I'll be good ;)
