Angela, I know how much it had to have hurt your DD, as well as you/DH and the couple who was keeping her. I certainly know firsthand how you can be watching a child closely and still things happen. And being on first-name basis with the pediatrician is uncomfortable. I was working part-time at a crafts store during this time and the doctor came thru my line, said "Hi, Kathy, how are Erin and Kate doing?" While that was nice that she knew us, I hated that she KNEW US. :lol:

I'm surprised that more stuff didn't happen to my kids, though. They were little "way back" in the 80s when you could send them outside to play after breakfast and not see them again til supper. They were a little pack of kids going from house to house and all the moms in the neighborhood watched out for all the kids in their proximity. I sure wouldn't dream of doing that these days!

Oh, for sure Kathy. I remember doing the same thing as a kid. We were a crazy bunch of 5 siblings, and got hurt all the time, and had a blast doing it. :)

There's no way I would dream of letting my girls out of my sight today though, and that's kind of sad.
