Question about this recipe

  • I saw this in the breakfast thread above. Is the oatmeal quick cooking, or something different? I really want to try this... it sounds yummy! Thanks in advance!

    Banana Baked Oatmeal

    2 cups oatmeal dry
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 cup skim milk
    ½ cup Egg Beaters
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1/4 cups Splenda
    2 medium bananas, mashed
    1 Tbsp cinnamon
    1 tsp vanilla

Mix dry ingredients, then mix in wet ingredients.
Pour into a sprayed 8” square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min.
  • Maria,
When I've made this, I used quick cooking oats, and it turned out good. I haven't tried the other kind though.

Welcome to the board, and feel free to post to our Core Support board. I think we're on #32 now.

  • Maria,
I've had good luck with old fashioned oats, so my guess is that it doesn't matter! I happen to like it a lot and when I need a dessert, it's good and still on Core. Good luck!

  • Thanks gals- I appreciate it! I really like the WW Core plan- it's so easy, and has a lot of foods I like anyway. I had another weigh-in today, and I lost 1.2 pounds for a total of 10.4 lost. Tonight I start a cardio kickboxing class too.

I got everything at the store to make that recipe, except I forgot the milk! I'll ask my husband to get it on his way home from work, and make the oatmeal tonight or tomorrow.
  • Hey Maria,
on your weight loss. You're doing great.
