Cheesy Green Beans
This is a great side dish. I didn’t have the frozen green beans it requested. Instead, I had a mini can of green beans, which I used. I drained the can of green beans really well and then added them to the sautéed onions and garlic. I heated it through for a few more minutes until warmed through. I added the cheese once I transferred it to my plate.
½ Teaspoon margarine/butter 1 Tablespoon finely chopped onion 1 Small garlic clove, minced 1 Cup Green Giant frozen cut green beans 1 Tablespoon shredded cheddar cheese 1.) Melt margarine/butter in small nonstick saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring frequently, until onion begins to brown. Remover from saucepan; cover to keep warm. 2.) In same saucepan, cook beans as direction on package; drain. Add onion mixture, cook until thoroughly heated. Add cheese; toss gently to mix. |
Be sure to use fat reduced cheese and sautee in olive oil rather than margarine or butter to make this OK for South Beach.
