What is it....

  • What is it that motivates you to keep going day after day, even when you don't feel like it? Is there a specific thing, or a few?

I'm trying to get back on track, and I'm finding it much more difficult to get motivated to get anything accomplished!
  • I have to say i picture the smile on my face when i reach my goal. It keeps me going.
I also don't get down when i fall off the wagon, as long as i keep going.
  • My grandmother (rest her soul) always would tell me she did not want me to end up like her. I saw first hand all the health problems she had. I just say I cannot allow myself to get like that. I do not want to be a burden to my family because I am overweight.
  • For me it is aknowledging the nsv (the changes I am naturally making) and realize every step is a new step.
  • Thinking of new clothes and being proud of myself for hitting my goal...being healthy is number one I think
  • Thinking of when I reach my goal.. Not only new clothes.. I am hoping to wear more dresses/skirts.. also my cruise!

Also, to feel sooo much sexier in the bedroom. Without all the extra pounds.. I'm already feeling better about myself. Although dh has always said i'm beautiful, blah, blah, blah.. It's about how i "feel".
  • For me, it is my health above all! I also want to wear my old clothes and be able to keep up with my kids. AND I want another baby.............I'm sure I can think of many more "reasons", but these here are what keep me motivated day in and day out.
  • i want to avoid being judged first, by my weight. it happens. its reality. i will be judged by something else..but i'm just tired of this judgment (perhaps this is my own judgment too)
  • Seeing the shrinking belly has worked for me lately! It's still out there, but a lil smaller!

When my husband watches me walk out of the corner store while he's waiting for me in the car, when I get in he says 'wow you're looking great!' He makes those comments all the time, and it just makes me glow! He's always told me I'm beautiful, but it's more often now...I think he knows I need the encouragement...hehe.

Just saying 'I've lost 20 pounds!' is great...being able to say 30 will be better...and then....40!!!

    Feeling better.

Looking good when I go home at Christmas. I'll probably be the thinnest one in my family (4 of us girls) for the first time EVER!

    So many things really!

  • At first, it was seeing everything shrink and bones pop out where I didn't even know I had them.

That was a while ago, though.

Now, I feel like CRAP when I do not take care of myself. When I don't work out, I find it very easy to get down in the dumps mentally. When I don't eat right, my insides go haywire.

    Really, I have no choice.
  • Thanks everyone for your responses! Health is a HUGE motivator for me, as the past few years I was seriously ill and on so many pain killers it was ridiculous!! I also think feeling better about myself, like what amber said about her hubby saying she's beautiful, my hubby can say it, but it really is about how I "feel" about me.
  • I've been going through a work out slump, which is weird for me. I was searching online looking for motivators and I found this list of 100 things. Check it out:

  • I want to have kids in the not too distant future and the word is its much much better to be healthy and fit before getting preggers..
  • dido hear...hubby and I plan to have one in the near future and to have a healthy pregnancy
  • What keeps me motivated is looking back at pictures of me when I was at my heaviest and remembering how awful it felt to go shopping! I wouldn't even pay attention to what was in style, if it was my size and it didn't show all my fat rolls then I bought it. Now I'll go into a store and pick up a pair of jeans or a cute top and go try it on without hesitating... that keeps me motivated.. lol
