Jamie, I don't know how this would work as a substitute for the LA soup mix, but you could try this - I posted it a long while back on the recipe thread:

Low Sodium Soup Mix
From Linda Larsen,
You can find low sodium chicken bouillon in the soup section of most large grocery stores. This is a great mix to have on hand, because you can substitute the recipe described below for a can of condensed cream soup.
INGREDIENTS:
* 2 cups instant non fat dry milk powder
* 1 cup cornstarch
* 1/4 cup instant low sodium chicken bouillon granules
* 2 Tbsp. dried onion flakes
* 1/2 tsp. pepper
PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients and store in airtight container.
To substitute for one can of soup, combine 1/3 cup of the mix and 1-1/4 cups cold water. Whisk well, and cook and stir over medium heat until thickened.
Vegetables sauteed in a little water and then drained are wonderful added to this soup. Substitute LS V8 juice for the water for a tomato cream soup. Have fun experimenting!
