The Dog Days of Summer Challenge

  • The dog days of summer (described as the most sultry, hot part of the summer) are upon us, and some of us are waning in our commitment to weight loss and exercise. So how about a new challenge? Sometimes making a public commitment helps keep us motivated to stay on our program, exercise, drink enough water, or even make our bed each morning. You can set any kind of goal you like.

From now through the end of August, I will eat on program, exercise daily, drink water and journal so that I can make it to my high Weight Watcher's goal of 169 by September 1. In other words, enough screwing around--it's time to get on the stick and get it done.

    Anyone else?
  • Sheila great thread!!
    Here's my goals
    1. Stay in my WW points
    2. Workout at the very min twice a week. I'm having a heck of a time doing this.
I'm hoping those 2 things will get the ball rolling for me.
  • Sheila, you can do it!! You're so close!!

My goal is to get rid of the winter weight I gained (about 20 lbs or so). However, it's much more important for me to journal, be honest about what I"m eating, and stick with working out 4-5x/week.
  • I'm in!!! I hopped on the scale this morning and discovered that I am only 5 pounds below what I was in January. I've gained almost 15 pounds back due to falling off the wagon! We have a relatively formal event in September that I'm buying a new dress for and I'd like to be in a size 18 by then (I'm in a 20 now in dresses, so I don't have that far to go!).

My goal from now to August 1 is to eat within my WW points range every day and not tap into my flex points. By September 1 I'd like to be into that size 18 dress.
  • My goals for now through the end of Aug.
    1. Write down everything I eat
    2. Do SOMETHING active at least 5 days a week
    3. I'd like to be back comfortably in my 18s (not suffocatingly) by the end of August.
    4. Do my best to make my first mini goal of 278. I won't etch this one in stone though lol.

DH and I are going on a cruise (woohoo!) in September. So this is a great challenge for me.
  • Just bumping this up so newbies can see it and participate if they so choose.

How's it going with exercise, everyone? Hope all you DD of Summer Challengers are doing well!
  • Bringing this up because I'm happy to say that I completed this goal with a pound to spare. It's been a while since I've made any of my weight goals so I'm particularly proud of this.

Hope everyone is doing well! I don't know about where you live, but there's definitely that fall chill in the air in the evening.
  • Wow Shiela! You are so close!!!
