10%?

  • I've been on WW for almost four weeks now. I don't go to meetings, and I didn't join the WW website. I do have the books, the points slider, and a food diary. Anyway... everyone keeps talking about the losing 10% and it's even mentioned in the diary. But what is it and how do I calculate it?

Sorry if this is a totally stupid question - no laughing at me! lol
  • Its 10% of your body weight
  • 10% of your total body weight at starting.

Since I started WW at 241 pounds, my 10% is 24 pounds, just taking the first two numbers of your starting weight. (Man I wish they could figure it based on your initial starting weight, I'm 4 pounds further along that way )

They say that lowering your body weight by 10% significantly lowers your risk for health problems.
  • Hi Girls! It's so awsome when you hit your 10% also! I just hit mine this past Tues. and honestly I hadn't felt like I had lost but since I hit my 10 % I've felt it lol. It's weird I know lol. I go to meetings and they give you this keychain that is real descreat but it's an awsome reminder. Hope you all have a great week!
  • ck,
Congrats on hitting your 10%!!! What a great milestone!! I was telling my mom that I don't think all this loss will be real until I hit that point either!!

How long have you been doing weight watchers? Because you are doing awesome!!
  • CK: Yah on hitting your 10%.

Basically, about 8 or so years ago, researchers discovered that even with a modest weight loss of 5-10%, many positive changes could happen to your body including reduction of blood pressure, lower blood sugar and cholestrol and more energy!!

    Cheers!

  • I cant wait til i start celebrating my 10 percent. unfortunatly i still have another 5lbs til i reach it.... hopefully next month i can "brag" lol.. i hope all is well with everyone take care
  • 10% is just supposed to be your first major goal.
  • 10%
I just went to my WW meeting tonight and I am super close to my 10%(1.4 lb to go ) I have been going to WW for 15 weeks now and I have lost 20.4 pounds and I am feeling better about my eating and health habits. I am exercising regularly. This time around with WW things have sunk in and I am seeing progress....It helps that I have a very supportive husband who is my cheering squad......
