Wasa Bread vs. melba toast

  • Just curious if anybody eats Wasa Bread and if so what do you put on it? I have been putting low fat peanut butter on it, any other ideas, its pretty blan tasting just plain.
I was also wondering would Wasa Bread be better for you then Melba toast? Im guessing yes, but wanted others inputs
thanks alot, hope everyone is doing well
  • I spread a bit of hummus on Wasa bread and add sliced veggies such as red bell peppers. I also eat Wasa bread with Laughing Cow light cheese.

I don't know anything about Melba toast, but because Wasa is made of whole grains it probably is better for you.
  • I use Wasa crackers in place of bread with just about any topping that you would put in a sandwich. I did a side-by-side comparison on Nutrition Data and the rye crackers came off as a bit healthier than the melba toast. They were also higher in the "fullness factor" which measures how filling a food is.
  • What is Wasa bread? Where do you get it? I'd like to try it. I eat laughing cow light cheese with reduced fat wheat thins.
  • They are crackers made from various grains and are in the cracker/cookie aisle of most grocery stores.
  • Thank you everyone for your replies.
I found the Wasa Crackers in the same isle as the crackers aswell. There are afew different types of Wasa Crackers. They are pretty blan tasting and need something on them, but i find them filling.
  • I am going to have to look for those!

I haven't tried them but Philadelphia makes a 94% fat free cream cheese that might be good on them.
  • I used to make chicken or tuna salads and put it on Wasa bread. You can also put sliced tomatoes/cucumber on it with low-fat cheese. And it's really good with low-fat plain yogurt.
