Back on track! NSV

  • So...I am pretty impressed with myself. I have managed to get myself back into doing what i should...staying until 1500-1600 cal a day (with the added goal of under 30....I've even managed to hit that one 4 out of 6 days!) and exercising every other day. The exercising part has been a little difficult to force myself to get into...but I am working on it. And in the process the scale hit the lowest its been yet! I'm so happy, after a month of only watching that I didnt eat too much, I had gained three pounds back. Now I'm back in the game!

My goal is to lose at least 20 pounds before I go to Disney World this summer with one of my best friends. I've done the "fat chick" in Disney heat thing, and I'd rather not again. Shorts make me unbelievably self concious, and FL in August....well, I live in VA, and I squeak by with capris, but I can't do that down there and survive.

Anyway, I just wanted to share. Exercising is still hard to get motivated about...but I know that if I do it I will lose the inches and weight!

    THanks!

  • I wish someone would explain what NSV means!!! Also - why would anyone willing go to Florida in August? ugh - i hate heat!
  • LOL...I also would like to know what NSV means
  • NSV = Non Scale Victory
  • Well, I go to FL in August cause, well, I Love Disney World, and I teach and work at a summer camp, so August is my only time off. Altho there are times when i think...I just got done working with kids...why am i going to kid central again?? LOL.
Besides, I live in Virginia Beach and work on Maryland's Eastern Shore for summer camp...Disney World isn't actually that much hotter than VA with 90 degrees and 3000% humidity!

  • Glad you are back on the wagon, Vanessa!!! ===scooting over to make room===

And LOL I would go to Florida in August and hope to go sometime this fall. I hate heat too and did NOT like living in Fort Lauderdale... too hot and muggy... but the reason I want to go is I have two of the bestest buddies in the whole world there.
  • Congratulations for getting back on track. Just remember staying on track will help make your vacation at Disney World even better.
  • Great job getting back on track. Shows lots of determination! Hope you have fun at Disney.
  • Well, the good news is, that, though it is still hot and generally muggy here in the Land of Mouse, as you lose the pounds the heat doesn't seem as bad as it used to. I've been tolerating it much better this year after years of dashing from one air conditioned box to another! And, as I'm sure you know, just keep a bottle of water with you at all times so that you stay hydrated...

And congrats on getting back on plan! We all drift a bit from time to time, but the important thing is just not to give up, pack your toys, and go home. Good work!

  • Is a "NSV" like when you get out last summers clothes and find they are a lot roomier than last year!
Sorry for dissing Florida - my least favorite in-laws are there, so not my favorite place! That and the alligators!
    Have a good week everyone!
  • Oh not to worry, I diss Fla all the time myself... no one hates a state so much as the people who live there, eh? Heheheee... We used to always plot a future of living in a more northerly direction where the seasons actually change and such!

  • Lala - your join date is Jan 2006 & you've already lost 21lbs? Wonderful! Can i ask what you're doing?
  • Congrat's on getting back on track. Disney will be even that much more fun with those 20 lbs. shed. Good Luck and wishing you the best.
