  • Today I raked the yard all day. Fitday said I burned 1000. I feel it too... so do my hands. I love it when I can do something that burns calories and profits in other ways as well...(now I have a clean yard!) the rest of the time, I do my cardio on the treadmill. Thats why I love my MP3. I love the elliptical trainer, but after about 15min I lose circulation in my toes. Does this happen to anyone else? I usually alternat witht the treadmill.
  • I miss the stair mill at the gym I worked at in TN. Its like an escalator. It kicks butt!
  • I stick to water aerobics, swimming, the elliptical, and I get anywhere from 20 min to 1 hr of walking in every day depending on what else I'm doing. This morning I did some very slow jogging when I was out with the dog because I was short on time but still wanted to give him a chance to burn off some energy before I left for work. It only took me 15 min to finish the loop that usually takes me 20 min if I walk the whole thing, I'm impressed. I usually hate running but I think I'm in a bit better shape now and I could probably phase a bit of jogging in my walks. I'm sure the dog would be happy, he always seems like he has more energy than we can get out of his system.
  • circulation problems
wannabsize7 - I used to lose circulation in my toes/entire foot all the time when doing the elliptical or the treadmill. I remember reading about this stuff on the web somewhere. It doesn't happen as much anymore, but it is very annoying when it does!

My favorite cardio at the gym is the elliptical. My new favorite workout video is The Firm's Cardiosculpt.
  • It is so annoying. I feel like i could do the elliptical for hours if I could feel my toes.
  • Have you tried to losen your sneakers while working out? If my sneakers are tied to tight, I too have circulation problems.
  • I love to run - outdoors or at the gym, doesn't really matter. I also really like to bike, but only if I have a few hours to go off on an excursion on a nice weekend afternoon - I'd rather ride for 3 or 4 hours instead of half an hour at the gym. And I don't like riding in traffic all that much - too stressful. I also love walking - I'll walk anywhere rather than take a bus or drive.
  • I'll have to check my laces next time... thanks
  • I'm an elliptical girl. I like the variety of movements involved in the continually changing slope (I do the hill setting) and forward/backward pedalling. It keeps my mind and body from getting bored
  • I love the elliptical... Its my favorite... In the privacy of my own home, I like the treadmill, for some reason doing it at the gym makes me nervous
  • I am an elliptical girl, too. I also have the foot numbness, but since it subsides so quickly, I don't worry about it. I really miss my old gym's rowing machine. A bit old school, but it's one of the only exercises that ever made my thighs look slimmer.

At home, I love turbo jam. So much fun.
  • i like the elliptical too. it's the easiest on my knees. though i must admit, i don't push myself hard enough on it.

the hardest toughest one for me is the stair master. but it does produce results. but within 3-5 minutes, i'm already dying.
  • Favorite- Elliptical and stair stepper, I love turning on my ipod and going hard for 30 minutes, it makes me feel good when I am done.

Least favorite, most effictive (lol)- Running on the Tredmil/jogging path. I sweat the heartest and my heart rate shoots up but I cannot last more than 5 minute at a time @ 5.0.

I want to start the "From Couch Potato to 5k" plan May 1.
  • I like bike riding. And walking.

I have a question, though. Has anyone here used an ab lounge? Do they work like they say? Is it easier than a regular crunch? Or better?
  • I like to walk and play Dance Dance Revolution! :P I thought about getting an ab lounge, but I just figured I would do my Biggest Loser DVD or Pilates for Abs instead. Save me some money.
