  • On March 1 st.. will be lent and I will be giving up Chocolate and anything else with chocolate on March 1 st till Easter..This will be my new approach of not following any special diet plan or even calorie counting. I give up on dieting and start making peace with food.

I will eat healthy..Mindful...and listen to my stomach cue on eating healthier foods. I feel positive that this method will work for me.

I will weigh in on Easter..
  • You can do it, Liliann! I have faith in you! So many commercial plans make food the enemy. It is not. You have to eat. I'm glad to hear you say you're going to make peace with food.

Take it in baby steps. That's what I'm doing. Not so many radical changes all at once, just a bit here and a bit there. I've eaten 3 apples in the past week. I don't think I ate 3 apples in all of last year! Baby steps. Somethings, like drinking my water, are almost getting to feel normal for me now. Whodathunkit?

    You can do it, Liliann!
  • Thank you Lena..Yes, baby steps.. Keep up the good work with the water and apples. This weekend had brought a bag of apples, oranges and ate one apple so far..Good luck this week.
  • I think that's a very good plan! The whole idea of the "DIET" seems so odd to me. I mean, when you have other problems you can just stop. Alcoholic? Stop drinking. Tobacco addict? Stop smoking. But food addicts can't just stop, becuase we need it to live! So your strategy of not confining yourself seems smart to me-- accomdation and adjustment, not rules and impossible standards. Good luck on giving up the chocolate!
  • Hi Liliann-I wanted to wish you the best of luck. I have been using the NO diet approach and its been working. I know that you can do it. Keep us up to date on how you're doing.
  • Liliann, good luck this week, hon! You know we're all here for you...
  • Good luck and I know that we will read of your success at Easter
  • Thank you Kate,Brandy and Ellis!
  • Way to go Liliann!

It's all about finding something that you know you will be comfortable following. Who knows?! Maybe once Easter comes around, you won't even feel like having chocolate I had planned to have some chocolate cake last night. I was looking forward to it but when the time came to eat it, I didn't feel like it! Crazy I know! lol

I started making small changes in what I was eating and one change led to another, to another, to another. The more little changes I made, the more I wanted to change other things. It's all about just getting started and then going from there.

Good luck hun. You can do it!
  • go lil'!
  • Thank You FitBoo.. on your 60 Lbs loss!!

    Thank you Andrea.
  • good luck! you can do it!
  • Good luck!! That's my goal too, to give up my sweets on March 1st for Lent. I practically live off of sweets so it's going to be an interesting change.
  • Good luck to you too ,Lexi..

    Thanks ready..
  • Way to go, Liliann! I love your positive attitude... keep it up! And as Boo said, perhaps by Easter you won't even WANT the chocolate! I am that way... once the junk is out of my system I don't crave it any more. LOL Lena.. I laughed about the apples. Now I eat one just about every day, whereas in the past I never bought them. I am fortunate to live in Washington where we grow them and get them fresh and yummy... AND my favorites... the Pink Lady... are in season!!

Liliann I can't wait until Easter to see your new stats!!
