Don't let Supermodels bring you down....Worth checking out!

  • Hello Everyone!

Have you ever looked at a magazine and thought, "Wow, she is so beautiful. I wish I could look as pretty and radiant as her!" Sometimes I would have that thought, and even said it out loud to my fiance or friends or whoever would listen. LOL! Not anymore though!

My fiance is an artist....he is a designer and knows about why people looks so "Perfect" in magazines and even on tv. It is called retouching or airbrushing. They can do it with still pictures and with video.

I found this website and it is a perfect example of what is done to photos to make models look "Perfect"

Don't let magazines bring you down! I don't let it bring me down ANYMORE!

  • That is a neat site, thanks for sharing...
  • I always knew about airbrushing but seeing this had really opened my eyes. WOW. Thanks for sharing that. As much as I hate that they do it...I wonder what I could look like after I was airbrushed lol.
  • It would be interesting to see just what they would do with me if I were to be airbrushed. I think the first thing they would do is decrease the size of my nose! LOL! I have that wonderful German nose that my family always makes fun of! LOL!
  • wow... that is crazy! it does make me feel better though.
  • Terrific find
  • Thanks that is neat to see the difference....I dont see why they feel the need to make them "doll like" since she is beautiful in her "original form".

NUMB, I would like to see what they would do with me also...that would be fun to get a pic done like that professionally
  • I knew about airbrushing, too, but to see that they even go so far as to change her BELLY BUTTON?! Please, peopl, if we can't even accept varying belly buttons, what hope is there for our world?
  • For anyone who saw "The Inredibles"...

"Supermodels. Heh! Nothing super about them... spoiled, stupid little stick figures with poofy lips who think only about themselves. "
  • Another thing about models...Keep in mind, please, that they are chosen for their resemblance to coathangers, not actual women. The "fashion figure" in drawing is purposely elongated and exaggerated to show off the clothes; models are models because of their resemblance to the fashion figure. It has nothing to do with reality for the rest of us, and it's not supposed to.
  • Wow...thank you so much for sharing!
