I've got a question ...I was wondering if potatoes and legumes count towards your daily vegetable/fruit selections.

Potatoes very much so.
Legumes some will say yes and others will say no. The new USDA Food Pyramid has the legumes as a subcategory under vegetables so I say yes. However if I have already gotten in all my veggie/fruit servings I will ensure I have all my proteins in I will use them toward those servings since they are so high in protein also
I agree with Kelly S. There are days when I need them in the protein area too.
