cookbooks

  • Hope this is a good place to post this.
What is your favorite cookbook? I only like recipes with few common ingredients. Many of those cookbooks either don't have the nutritional info or they aren't for those trying to lose weight.
Can you make any suggestions, would like to try and make it to the book store this weekend as I am getting bored with the same old stuff, but don't have time to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
    Thanks!!!
  • Not cookbooks, but great recipes.
I have a ton of cookbooks but most remain unused now that I've discovered online recipe sites.

Aside from the terrific ones posted here at 3fc, in various forums and under 3fc features at the top of the page I like:

    www.allrecipes.com

    http://www.recipezaar.com/

    http://www.recipesource.com/

The first site has the best nutritional information, IMHO, the second one some and the third site has sort of hit and miss data.
  • Secrets of Cooking for a Long Life gives nutrition breakdown for each recipe, plus has a big intro. section about general nutrition (how to use beans, whole grains, oils, etc.)

Lean Bean Cuisine also gives nutrition info. and has some eclectic recipes (aduki bean pancakes, anyone?)

    Have a good weekend.
