Good morning everyone!
I'm about to start day three of this conference I'm at . . . I am so tired! I was hoping that I would be able to come back from this conference full of enthusiasm for my research, but unfortunately, even though it's interesting, I'm just becoming more convinced that I do not belong in the world of research. Now I need to figure out how (and when) to tell my advisor that I want to quit with my masters at the end of the year.
Okay, aside from that stuff . . . obviously I have gotten no exercise since I've been here, except walking to and from the conference center. The schedule is so packed that I leave first thing in the morning, and come back just in time to get 8 hours of sleep before the next day. I have been trying to make healthy choices with eating and be aware of portion sizes, but it is difficult because they provide all our food. The one thing I ate that I probably shouldn't have was ice cream, because when I told my friends I was going to a conf at Penn State they all said "Go to the creamery and get ice cream!!" so of course I had to do it. And I can't just eat half of a cup of ice cream! Supposedly it is an average of four days from the cow to your ice cream here.
I don't really have time to catch up on what everyone's been saying, but I did have one question for you all (I know you may not have an answer) . . . I know there are a lot of books and support groups for dieting for Christians. But are there books on dieting for other religions, not just Judeo-Christian ones? Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a Jewish diet book either (I guess we are obsessed with food! ). But I was mostly wondering about more new-agey type stuff.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
