Thanks for the Inspiration--Akihega

  • To all who replied to akihega--thanks--it may as well have been me you were replying to. Change the age to 50 (oops just turned 51) change the daughter's age to 20, who needs to loose at least 50 pounds ( I worry so much about her) and DH who ask,"What is the diet of the day?"

I want to do this, I really do, because I am soooo tired of beating myself up and refusing to buy anything in the next size. All my weight has deposited itself in my belly. I look like a healthy apple with great biceps and calves. All the foods I really enjoy are on SB, so why do I give up on Phase I at Day one of two. Kind of makes me realize how hard a recovering alcoholic has it!!

This is my favorite forum in the Whole Wide World(and that's a pretty big place), so if you don't mind I am just going to hang out here and maybe just maybe I can tackle this challenge One Day At A Time.

    Active

PS. Am I the oldest one on the beach? In which case let me give you words of wisdom, menopause puts a whole new spin on weight loss.
  • For heavens' sake, Active! I'm so old I've forgotten about menopause! I'm 66 so I've got you beat! You could almost be my daughter.

I'm glad you like our site and are finding us inspirational. Hang out lots - it helps!
  • LOL -- Welcome to the Beach!!!
  • Active, I'm 52. You can do this. One meal at a time. My biggest change this time around is to try to post to the daily. It seems to be working.

Lydia, mom to a 4 1/2 yr old tornado who should be making her way home soon.
  • Welcome to the beach.

I'm 53, so we are close to the same age. I am not sure about the menopause thing, though. I just had a hysterectomy, so will be finding that our pretty quickly, I'm sure.

The ladies here are a great inspiration and help. You can do this...one day at a time, one bite at a time.
