Just wondering...

  • Hi all...

Just wondering how everyone is doing today. Are you staying OP and drinking your water.? You better be! I'm having a great OP day and just wanted you to have one to....

  • Someone, please explain to me WHY I really have to drink this much water. (I'm not doing it, and while my rate of loss is slow, I don't understand why water would speed things up.)

    Thanks.
  • Hi NewsMom,

Water does lots of important things in our bodies! It keeps our blood flowing, and our joints working smoothly. All of our cells are filled with mostly water! To keep everything running at an optimum rate, we must make sure the water balance in our cells is optimal.

Also, when we burn carbs for energy (which is what our body does normally), the carb molecules are made of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Fat molecules are made of mostly carbon and hydrogen. To burn fat for energy, our bodies need to add oxygen to the fat molecules, and water is required to make this conversion. If you don't get enough water, the fat molecules will just sit there and not be converted!
  • Allie, thanks for the info...I have been drinking my water, but really didn't know what it was doing for me. Still am trying to figure out how 20 oz of water turns into 3 gallons of pee!
  • Thank you. I just needed REASONS, and now I have them! I'm going to print this out, so I have it in my book (my Complete Food Companion, where I keep my slider and my "Quick Track System" journal)

I'll go mix up some more Crystal light... and start my weekend off right!
