  • Thank you, runner. You have no idea how helpful it is to receive kind words like yours. It really gives a boost on this long journey.
  • Greetings from another chocolate lover. I guess I've learned to exert a reasonable level of control over my desire to eat it, these days, but I STILL refuse to torture myself by having large quantities of chocolate in the house. I do the following things to make life easier:

*Buy chocolate items one at a time, in single servings. Never buy a whole box or bag of anything.

*Get my chocolate fix with a Luna bar, so that I am using the 4 points to cover my post-workout carb and protein needs PLUS my desire for chocolate. Kills two birds with one stone.

*Eat only good chocolate or high-quality baked goods. Never waste points on crappy stuff.

*Drink a cup of coffee when I am craving something chocolate. For some reason, this REALLY helps. Maybe because the flavor of coffee is sort of similar to chocolate.

  • Diamonda, Thanks for the insight about coffee. I really look forward to stopping at McD on the way to work just for a cup of decaf. ( I can't tolerate regular coffee.) Sometimes people jokingly ask me why I bother to drink coffee if I don't get the caffeine. (Uh, I don't know...could it be?...maybe I like the taste of coffee?)
But anyway, I do find it very satisfying and I think you've got something there re: chocolate.
  • Chocolate nearly kills me.
I can be so in control for days on end and completely lose it when it comes to chocolate. I, too, have become a snob for really good chocolate in recent years and that helps. However, when I want it, it doesn't amtter to me what kind it is.
It is really the one area-- food-wise -- I have a really hard time controlling.
  • why not try sweet success chocolate bars, slimfast has good ones too. Have you made the whoopie pies they are good too. Don't deprive yourself just look for low point chocolate. Have a great day.
