Thin Ice

  • Has anyone tried Thin Ice? It's a malt beverage that's only 1g carb. Does anyone know where I can get it? I live in the Chicago area.

    Thanks,

    Real
  • It's a beer? What is the nutritional content? ....just asking for a friend, of course!

    Whoops! Just checked!
OMG! It's made by Molson, a Canadian company! Wouldn't you know it.
Do an advanced google search with all key words "beer thin ice locations" to find a supplier near you.

Nutritional count looks good - unless there are sugar alcohols.

Making a note for summer - if we ever get summer!
  • Tried it. Have it in the fridge. LOVE IT!!! It's very similar to Zima or Schmirnoff Ice and tastes wonderful! They use Splenda to sweeten it so it's a true 1 carb per bottle. (none of that sugar alcohol crap!) Go to www.drinkthinice.com and there's a link so you can see if they distribute in your state
  • Very cool find! I will have to pick some up for this weekend.

Is there anything wrong with LC beer, such a Michilobe (sp?) Ultra? I realize there is no nutritional content but will it hurt the scale?

What about other alchohol? Bacardi has a new commercial urging people to drink Bacardi with diet soda, claiming no carbs. I remember when I first did Atkins back in my college days I took shots every weekend and dropped 30 pounds in three weeks. I don't drink hard liquor much anymore, but it is still "nice to know"

    Thanks!
  • There are no carbs in distilled alcohol. So brandy, scotch, gin, vodka, whisky, rum, tequila - all no carbs. If you get flavored stuff like Malibu rum, there's tons of sugar there.

The only real reason to be wary of alcohol (not that I'm a good example) is that it slows you down. Our bodies will burn alcohol before any other fuel. So when you have a drink, your body will stop burning fat long enough to burn off the alcohol.
  • Great, thanks! I'll pass the info off to my fiance too. He likes to drink brandy.

I guess it's not bad if you have an occassional drink.
  • LOL,
when you said Malt I was thinking chocolate not beer...lol
  • Did someone say malt?? J/K. I'm actually doing ok (today). Taking it one day at a time!!
