  • Hi everybody
I'm still in California and am using the computer at the library. There is no way that I can get caught up on everybody but I see that Ruth just had another birthday!!! Happy Birthday Ruth

Well, my mother passed away on Jan 10 at home with the wonderful care of Hospice. She never really regained consciousness but there was one afternoon where she recognized us and said our names. I think this was the "surge of energy" that they talk about getting prior to death. My Dad has taken this Very hard. Per my Mom's wishes, she was cremated and we will have a Memorial Service at home next week. I am planning on returning home Feb. 5.

I miss all of you and can't wait to get back home and into my morning routien of coffee, Sad light and 3FC's (and hopefully back on the beach)

I'll check back in on Monday
  • Oh Sil, I am so very sorry but glad that your Mother had a quiet death with compassionate care. My deep sympathy to you and your family, especially your Dad.
Your towel and umbrella are reserved for your return to The Beach.
    (((Sil)))
  • Sil, I am so sorry to hear about your Mother's death. But I am glad she was able to stay at home with all her loved ones around her until the end. Hospice is a wonderful organization! Sending healing thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

As Ruth said, your spot here on the beach is reserved for as long as need be! I will personally take on anyone who tries to poach it!
  • Oh, Sil. I'm so very sorry about your dear Mom. Thank you for updating us... you've been very much in my thoughts and prayers.
We miss you... I'm glad you're coming home soon. I wish I were with you to give you a big hug...
lots of love and continued prayers...
  • Sil,
I am so sorry. Last Feb lost my dad, gone suddently and before I could say goodbye, then lost a family friend who was like a grandmother it was two weeks later I helped put her into hospice, we all said goodbye, it was such a wonderful way to say goodbye to someone you love and a great way to go.

My prayers are with you, and your dad and family right now. It gets better, but whenever I get really sad, I am grateful, because it reminds me of how much I loved them.....

    Love,
    rb
