  • Could one of you techno-wizards help me out? I can't figure out -- what with this new setup -- how to set the default so that when I enter a thread it shows me the last posted item first. Can someone tell me?

    Thanks!
  • Hi, all! Glad everyone is making their way back!

Come on down, everyone! The weather is beautiful here. It is supposed to be 70 tomorrow -- think you can handle it?
  • Hi Girls, good to see you all, sorry I didn't get a chance to read the posts, I was in computer training all day today

    I'll catch up tomorrow..

  • I WOULD LOVE SOME SUNSHINE
So we pack our backs and go to Florida...via Arizona of course to get used to the sunshine???

We had a terrific ice storm here almost six years ago (I remember as we got married six years ago on January 17th....and thankfully the worse was over).....it was really bad with schools/work closed down for days...and loss of power for many, especially in rural areas...not funny when it's so cold outside. The icy trees were pretty tho - but when they fell and smashed people's cars in the driveway - well you can imagine the problems that caused!

DD is managing nicely, went to the drug store to buy some "products"...she seems to be loyal to Kotex which I found pretty funny seeing as she has not used ANY products yet - I guess those commercials have already brainwashed her! Convinced her to get some 'overnights" with wings - but 5 yr old came running down from washroom asking me to come upstairs as the "pads" were bigger than her foot - or so he claimed! Very funny and cute.

I went to investigate and yes they are these super long things - I now have them in my washroom altho I did explain that at nighttime such things might be useful??? Live and learn I guess. Also reviewed the "disposal" of items - no blocked toilets PLEASE!

I found about the reticence re the "wings"...she is afraid people will see them when changing for gym in the locker room, esp if her panties are not white.....we had a good laugh as I said...what do you do, spread you legs really wide and ask everyone to come have a look? I tried to convince her that the wings would not be that obvious, but she wasn't buying it...oh well.

I also missed everyone here - funny how attached we have become....I would have gone crazy if the forum was not restored. Imagine what a permanent loss that would be? So I got to thinking - there is a chat here on the site (which I have never used).....would anyone be interested in establishing a weekly live chat time? (are we all in different time zones?).....and those that wanted to could join in? (Of course there would be others "chatting" as well I presume?)....maybe a tuesday or wednesday night at a specific time? Let me know what you think!

Had two glasses of red wine with dinner - which caused me to crave sweets...which made me melt some chocolate...added splenda to it....then some pecans...not bad and did the trick along with two cups of decaf....I am now pretty sober!

Very cold out tonight - need to stay warm! Almost bedtime -
    nitey nite!

  • Good to see you pop in, Leens!

Froufy! Gak! Was the ice storm *already* six years ago?! Are you sure? How can that be?? Oh, the aging....

Luckily I was far enough into southern Ontario at the time that I missed the 'icing.' Your DH sounds sweet, and Frouf, you are so hilarious. My own mom would say things just like what you say to your daughter!

Spedmom - my topic is robotic contact dynamics ... estimating things like stiffness and damping when the robot & payload come into contact with the environment. But I'm definitely getting excited that I'm about half a year away from completion! I can't wait to start seriously planning what I'm going to do next and finding out where that will be.

    Bedtime! See you later, Julie.
  • Kind of weird this went back to November, right before I fell off the wagon. Its like getting a clean slate, lol.

Only 5 more pounds to go to be back where I left off.

OMG my dd is eleven and I haven't even thought about periods yet, better schedule a talk with her soon!
