Pescatarian Keto, any thoughts?

  • Yep, I'm aware that ketosis isn't all that healthy long term.
Tbh, I've never done keto diet before, but I'm willing to give it a try for just 30 days.
I'm thinking that pescatarian might be a healthier option than a full on beef / pork / butter etc. diet.
If anyone's got any suggestions, please send them this way. It would be most appreciated - as said, never done keto/Atkins/low carb before :-)
  • The fat in Keto helps you feel full. Fish is fine but you will see it is usually paired with high fat sauce. We all believe that high carb low fat is good and therefore high fat low carb must be bad but it really isn’t true. Our ancestors did not trim the fat off their meat!

That being said, you don’t have to overdue the fat. Your body fat will be your fuel. But at the beginning, it does help you stay on the plan and get in to ketosis.
  • I've never done Keto and to be honest just now really hearing about it! It's not for me though. But I've switched from being a vegetarian years ago to a pescatarian (pesco -vegetarian). I made it 6 months before giving into chicken. I stopped eating pork 12 years ago. I stopped eating beef about 3 years ago. The only meat I struggle with eating every now and then is chicken LOL. I do plan to cut chicken out again. I will start clean Oct 1st. As far as beef goes I substitute that with plant based burgers. Vegan/Vegetarian patties. I alternate between coconut milk, almond milk and my 2%milk. I love cheese and butter so I will never cut them out. LOL unless I find a plant based cheese and butter that taste just as good! Me being a pescatarian was like one of the best things that happened to my health to be honest. It changed my overall health, my skin, my digestive system etc. for the best! Only suggestion is whatever you choose to do, just make sure you make small changes at a time.
