  • Anyone care to join me in being 10% lighter by Halloween? Halloween seems like a doable time frame to lose that amount. Think of the cute costumes we can wear! As they say, the time will pass anyway, so might as well lose a few extra pounds in the process!

  • I will join this challenge. I had hip replacement surgery last month (with osteopenia complications) and have been on "no weight-bearing" with a walker for five weeks now, and still have another week before I can put weight on my right foot. When I was weighed right before surgery I weighed 140 (on their scale). I haven't been actively exercising yet, but hopping on one foot using a walker feels pretty draining! By the middle of September I'm hoping I can do plenty of walking and swimming.

    SW: 140 (on doctor's scales; not sure about on mine)

  • I think I'd like to join. Since I've been kind of sitting at this weight for quite some time, 10% seems like a lot, but it may just be doable (or close to) by Halloween.

    Start: 158.8
    Goal: 143 (rounded - my scale only goes to 0.2 lbs)
    Total: 15.8 lbs

    Whoa, 15.8 lbs seems like a lot to me right now. And 143 basically what my lowest adult weight was! And in the normal range! Wow, I really want to succeed in this challenge. I want to be 10% lighter by Halloween!

    So, do we weigh in weekly, then?

    Fingers crossed that I will be able to practice self restraint and control.

    We had our photo taken last night and I have never looked so large. And the other day my husband got a new phone so he was trying out the video. OMG!!! I really need to do this.

    I haven't walked a lot in the last couple of days but I have done water aerobics and did a work out today while watching TV. I need to get all 3 going.
