OY VEY! I hope this won't be true for me. Great, thick, skin runs in the family. Of course, I am hoping that since I have only been this fat a few years that it will "bounce" back.
  • Emerald, I too suggest that you find a gyne and get checked out. I had that issue twice after menopause. The first time was minor, the second more serious, but I got it taken care of and am fine with it now. Don't let it go. I hadn't been to a gyne for years and had to call around to find one that had an opening that wasn't months off. It's not a fun thing to do, but consider the alternative.
  • Emerald I go to my family doctor....SHE is great. I have been on mine for almost two weeks now (Thursday). It started five days early, which happens occasionally when the previous month's started a little late. I'm giving mine until Friday to make an appt. My last exam was A-OK but I'm going back anyway.
  • Thanks ladies. It's good to know some of us are in the same boat.
  • Hello Ladies!

Emerald, I was wondering how your Dr. Appt went? I hope you have been well.
  • Things went fine. They said it was probably my cycle's last "hurrah". Needless to say, it has eased my mind. Thanks for asking.
  • Emerald: I'm thankful all was fine! Congratulations on the 18+ pounds down! Keep after it! I'm hitting the reset button....AGAIN......

  • Well I'm back at it again ... let's see how long I last. I would love to reach some type of goal this time around but I don't want to really set one if that makes sense. I'm just hoping to get away from the 190's-180's and move on

How about non-weight goals that will lead to weight loss.......
  • Ok ....

    1) more water, less diet soda also trying to cut the Mtn Dew kickstart drinks (smh)
    2) stop getting Bojangles/McD's BEC biscuits in the a.m. at work just because someone is offering/giving it to me
    3) stop stopping at BK on my way home most days
    4) cut the junk, pasta and starch (not totally but don't eat it daily) maybe as a treat

what else PrairieQueen I get a lot of active movement in at work it does help as long as I don't come home and binge on the wrong things
  • Hi Everyone, Very little weight loss this week. Must not give up! Must not give up!
  • Hello Chipper Chicks!

love2b: I understand completely. I KNOW what to do, I just have trouble DOING it! I stress eat and then hate myself for being spineless in the face of donuts. Especially donuts glazed with chocolate and stuffed fulla custard. And ice cream.....Sea Salted caramel ice cream! I even ingest junk I don't even like, just because it's available in the midst of a melt down.....

Teati: Congratulations on the 22 pounds lost! Keep after it! Dig in your heels and press on....

PQ: Hello there! Good to see you!

I'm going to increase my veggies and proteins and decrease my carbs, except for small servings of oatmeal, barley, brown rice, and the occasional slice of whole wheat bread. I need to manage my stress and somehow pass on the unhealthy offerings that seem to be everywhere at work. I am thinking about setting up a "boot camp" type work out with various "stations" in my house. I know if I join a gym, I will never go. I have measured out a 5k route in my neighborhood and my goal is to run it without stopping by fall. I don't know if it's even a reasonable goal, since I'm 53, and have never been able to do it, even when I was younger, but then, I never tried, either. I have to do something. My feet and ankles have been aching a lot, and my DH was shaking me in bed the other night because I was having episodes of apnea even with the CPAP on. My job is strenuous and I have at least 15 more years to work. I need my back and my hips and my knees and my ankles to hold up...

I'm going to do some research right now and figure out what sorts of boot camp stations I can rig!

  • Hi Everyone,
A couple of pounds down. Woot Woot! Must start moving more....
  • Hello Ladies!

Teati: Way to go! Down 25 pounds now? That's huge!

I read this quote, ï can't remember where or who said it...."40 is the old age of youth, 50 is the youth of old age". So see, we are literally in our 2nd childhoods! Yay!

    Have a great day!
