Frustratingly Painful Heat Rash!

  • Okay, gang, I'd like some input. I have been walking regularly for the last month or so. It was going along fine, until about 3 days ago.
BTW I walk in the early morning...usually get start out just before sunrise.

The heat that is baking northern CA is causing me to have heat rashes which are zero fun. Any suggestions for dealing with that? It's in various places like a few of my fingers, my shoulder area & the back of my legs. So it's not really in places where anything rubs horribly. Trying Gold Bond but it's still not really helping much.

Along with the Gold Bond, I also remove my sweaty clothes as soon as I'm home from my walk & give myself a little sponge bath...we are also in a really ugly drought. Any other suggestions?

I haven't had heat rashes like this ever. I have to kind of wonder if part of it is stress. We are in the process of trying to buy a home, so we are dealing with a lot of paperwork/phone calls & trying to pack up our lives. UGH!!! I just keep telling myself that our new home will be sooo worth it, even if it is just to get away from our annoying neighbors!

Thanks for reading! Hope you all are being healthy! Stay cool!
  • have you tried calamine lotion? do you get that in the states? its the stuff you use on kids when they have chicken pox. really cools and soothes
  • I'll try it! We do have it available.
  • Oh God, I don't miss that sh!t. Used to drive me crazy.

I had some success with an anti-fungal like Lotrimin.
  • I used to get heat rashes on my arms. Haven't had those in a long time. My brother used to not get them, but now he does.

If you're like him, it may not be just the heat. His is also some sort of allergy to something outdoors that gives him a rash when he's too hot. Maybe try taking a non-drowsy 24 hour allergy pill for a few weeks and see if that helps it.

WOW! Funny you said that!! My mom suggested the same thing when I was talking with her about it on Friday. I started doing that & I think that it is helping...along with the anti-itch lotion. THANKS!!!
