Any non dancy step aerobic video recs?

  • I love step aerobics and I LOVED BodyStep (I was a regular for 3 years), but... I can't make those classes any more, so I have to find some home videos.

I have "the" step work out by Reebok Step by Gin Miller and that is the style I like and it never gets old, but I would love more.

I do NOT like complicated, long, choreographic sequences that some step aerobic dancers do.

    Suggestions?

  • Check ebay for bodystep dvds. I have several. I usually pay about 50.00 for them so they are spendy. Also, there is a bodypump system that costs about 200.00 with the barbells and weights and comes with a folder with several body pump workouts, an intense 30 minute bodystep, combat, sports attack, yoga, and abs--all separate dvds. Well worth it if you like bodypump. That step workout is very straight forward, not dancy at all.
  • Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds. Can be found at collagevideo.com
  • Gin Miller's Simply Step is a favorite and it's on sale on her website at the moment. Jenny Ford has good, basic step and floor cardio. How about some kick boxing? Cathe Friedrich, Tae Bo, etc. are fun.
  • Amy Bento has some really intense step aerobics videos, but they tend to be a little more intricate in the choreography. Kelly Coffrey-Meyer and Cathe Friedriech have simpler choreography but are also pretty intense. Those are the 3 popular Step dvd instructors I know that aren't dancey.

Definitely check out Cathe's Cardio HIIT DVD for a really (REALLY) intense step workout. If you prefer a low impact workout, Cathe has low impact HIIT workouts that are still pretty intense.
