Just like any food, it typically means the farm is close to where you are - not manufactured somewhere across the country or world. The pigs would be local for that bacon.
  • Soy latte
    Fresh watermelon and orange juice
  • Zucchini/turkey meatballs with oxtail marinara. I was craving tomato sauce this morning
  • Small egg/sausage/veg wrap
  • Quote: jenny craig turkey breakfast burrito...

Yep, Munchy is correct. My motto is grow it yourself or buy local, and I practice what I preach. I buy a whole hog every year from a local farmerand order how I want everything packaged/flavored, etc. His farm is less than five miles from my house. I get a side of beef from a good farmer friend of mine a half mile from my house. We also have quail, chicken/eggs, turkey, and lamb farmers in the area. My neighbor across the road raises the cutest goats ever!
  • yum, I want to come to your place for breakfast!

Today I had no breakfast.... bad girl... my weigh in is this afternoon and I'm feeling kinda bloated so I just had tea.

You're lucky! We do have smaller farms around me, but not many with livestock other than chickens. I'm sure I can find a place (we have A LOT of local/sustainable restaurants in the area that list which farms the items are from).
We sometimes go to a halal slaughterhouse and pick up things like goat, fresh chickens, and rabbit. I hate holding the bag with the warm body in it, and often have to go outside while my husband cuts off feet/heads.
  • jenny craig cinnamon rolls today for breakfast. wow, doesn't even feel like I'm on a diet.
  • Oh, I had an egg white scramble with artichokes, roasted red peppers, scallions, and spreadable herb and garlic cheese melted in.
  • mmmm artichokes... awesome Mediterranean breakfast!

I always pick up my stuff after they've packaged and stuck it in deep freeze. I try to stay detached from meat animals. I never see the pigs when they're alive, and I've only "pet" the calves a few times (although I've milked a cow and goats before by hand). I usually just wave to them on my way home from work.
  • I had a slice of bakery sourdough with butter and a seltzer water with two aspirin

My husband likes to pick out which one he wants to bring home, so it's always freshly slaughtered. Ick!

This morning I had some sauteed broccoli slaw topped with a runny egg.
