  • Hi All,

Welcome to the 5th Challenge in the year long Make 2014 Your Goal Year Challenge!

I'm trying to keep with the format already laid out to keep things consistent for those of you who have been doing this the whole year. Weigh in is on Fridays to coincide with Halloween, but whenever you'd like to weigh in is fine. You also don't need to do the spreadsheet if you don't want to. Feel free to jump in even if you haven't done the previous challenges. Everyone is welcome!

Here's a link to the spreadsheet

The Challenge 5 tab is now ready if you'd like to enter your name, starting weight, and goal. I don't have mad spreadsheet skills, so we'll need to update the weight lost or gained column manually. ( Or if someone knows how to do this, feel free to edit the sheet. )

    Good luck everyone!!
  • I am weighing on Saturdays instead of Fridays. If I make this challenge I will be solidly in the 150s and then only have 10 pounds to go. Woo hoo!!!

  • Streusel! Thanks so much for putting this together. Also, I appreciate you keeping the formula!

I will have to post my goal later, as I'm typing this on my phone and it is not fun...

Alright, I am going for a 10 pound loss. That is so large, but I'm gonna try. I want to see if I can hit goal by New Year's, which is a 10lb/month loss. I think I can get pretty close.

You are quite welcome. I'm shooting for 10 lbs. too. That will put me in Onederland!

I don't think it's a bad thing to aim a little higher than you think you can reach. Your siggy is spot on.

  • Hey, how is everyone doing this week? Tomorrow is my normal weigh-in day, not sure what to expect. I've stayed at or under my calorie goal every day so far this week, but the last two weeks I've been really stressed and down, so I think that will affect the scale.

I really need to get back into running, I think it helps with stress relief. We have new puppies and so I've been walking them every morning during the time I would normally run, but it's obviously not the same intensity. I need to sit down and figure out a new routine for my days.
  • I had such a crappy week with food! Or at least, it felt crappy. I just felt like an all over mess and was definitely bingeing for not reason. It turns out I hardly even at over maintenance, so I'm happy to say I haven't lost or gained for the week. I'm going to make this next week better so that I can knock that number down finally!

    Happy Friday Chickies!

I'm thinking hard about the upcoming holiday season and how badly I'd like to be back to 185 on New Year's Eve. That's where I lost the battle last time. I plateaued ( slacked up ) around the holidays in 2010, maintained for a year, then gave up. This year I want to finish strong and hit the ground running in 2015.

OMG, doesn't it though? I injured my foot around Thanksgiving in 2011, so I haven't run in 3 years. Yesterday, I had such a crappy day at work that I took the chance and ran a mile. It felt so amazing to run again! I'm hoping that if I'm careful about it. I can at least run a few miles a week.
  • Goal 185 (lose 6lbs)

    Start weight 191.0
    9/26 188.6
    10/3 187.0

    End weight 10/31

    lost 2.4

Way to go on the loss this week! And good for you for running this week! I miss it too. The puppies may have to wait tomorrow morning, I feel like running instead.

Usually I look forward to weighing on Saturdays, but not this time. I have been below my calories for the last 2 weeks but tonight I totally binged and ended up about 500 calories over for the day. Yikes! We'll see how that affects things, maybe it will all even out. But I wish I hadn't done it the night before weigh-in, lol!
  • Wooo, I did it! So glad to see that scale drop today. I was afraid I was going to be really disappointed!
