Zombies, Run! 5k

  • I have successfully completed the C25K before years ago. Then I quit running and tried the C25K program again and failed miserably several times.

I recently started the Zombies, Run! 5K (ZR5K). So Far, I love it. I love the story lines, I also like the fact it seems easier than C25K and you have a lot of flexibility on how much you run during the workout. I wanted to see if anyone else is doing this program.
  • No one else is using Zombies, Run! 5K?

    I feel so alone.
  • Hi Miaka - I came on specifically to learn something about Zombies run. (I had seen it referred to on another thread). I can't find the app but it sounds fun. How do I get to it?
  • Never mind, finally found it. Let's see how it goes.
  • Glad you found it! I really wanted to try the Zombies, Run! app. However I can bearly run 3 min right now so I am doing the 5K training with hopes that I can run 30 min none stop in September. Let me know how you like the app.
  • This sounds really fun -- I'll have to come back to it when I start up running again.
  • It is a lot of fun! I highly recommand it. It's a lot more interesting than the regular C25K app and the Zombies, Run! app (not the 5K training app) is much more like a gaming app.
  • I have the zombies run app but I haven't used it much lately. I wasn't aware they had their own 5k plan and you said it was easier than c25k? I've finished c25k and have actually ran as far as 8km but haven't ran lately (and have gained a great deal of weight back ).

You recommend the plan then? Do you have to pay extra for it? I've bought seasons 1&2 and the side quests but like I said, haven't used it lately. I was planning on buying the c25k app.... does the zombies app run the story during the 5k plan?
  • Aunty Jam, I believe I paid $1.99 for the Zombies, Run! 5K app. I think it is easire than the C25K mostly because there is a lot of free form run mixed in the training where you can run and/or walk at your own pace. Which is nice because you can adjust according to your own fitness level. Of course there is regular intervals also.

There is a storyline, it takes place in Abel between episode 1 and 2. So bascially between when you first arrived in Abel and going on your first mission. The storyline is really the best part, I love finding out more about Abel and its residents. However it's different from the regular app, you don't get to collect supplies and play the game. You do however get a reward at the end of each training.

Hope you enjoy it as much I have.
  • Thanks for the info... I've looked in the app and couldn't find 5k training.. is it just under the races or were you talking about the interval training?
