  • I started again yesterday. I hope you all have a good OP day.
  • I started again today. Did this two years ago, didn't learn a thing, didn't phase off, and was very successful at gaining every single pound back. Found a new clinic closer to home and it is now time for accountability.
  • Quote: I'm with you Oenuh2 about every weight loss plan. Been loosing and gaining weight for 21 years now(since my last child) and now I have 85 lbs to loose (77 now). I started July 4th.
Let's work the plan together and wrestle this thing to the ground once and for all!
  • Quote: I have been given a Phase 1 Protocol Sheet dated 6-2014

It was given by someone on line who is a coach (I have no reason to not believe her but also no way to confirm). It is a version of the protocol sheet posted a couple months ago but we learned it was in testing at only a few centers. She says it is now in the coaches Library and is the NEW PHASE ONE SHEET.

ANYONE who started recently - can you confirm this date???I do not want to post until I get confirmation that coaches are using it.

    THANKS!!
JLUS, would you be willing to share this?
  • Consultation appt moved up to today. I will start on IP tomorrow (Monday). I did not get the 6/14 protocol sheet. For the first week of food, I was given a variety of the products. I am hoping the food taste ok. Starting out with the chicken noodle soup---who could screw up chick noodle soup. lol Say a prayer for me!
  • Quote: JLUS, would you be willing to share this? (new P1 sheet)
The new protocol sheets are on the first post of the IP daily chat, yes there is a new P1 - I got it at my clinic a week ago at my monthly check in.
You can just click the link and print if need be.

fitb4fifty: Just go back to your coach and ask her to get you the new protocol sheet from the "Coaches Library" She may not even realize there is a new one if she is just handing out older photocopied sheets.
  • Today is my 4th day on IP. So glad I found this site. It appears it will be a great motivator!

Welcome danijo, the 4th day may have been the hardest for me. It does get easier!
  • My Week 2 Weigh In
    It's official - down 9.4 lbs in 12 days....
I did my original weigh in on July 7, then did not start until July 9 (after 36 hours of 'the last supper' of course - gained at least 1 or 2 lbs before starting). But I am so happy to say that I am so close to my first ten-pound mark!!!

IP is being very good to me -- 1.25 inches off my waist, and 3 inches off hips! YAY!!!
  • Hi all. First post here.

I started a week ago and have had an absolutely miserable week. After reading posts here I had hope that it would get better after a couple of days, but I've been sick to my stomach and have had zero energy (I wake up and eat and then need to go back to sleep). I went to the store today and almost passed out after about a half hour of walking around there.

Is this typical? Am I doing something wrong? I have 13.5 months to spend on this plan and I can't imagine spending over a year feeling this bad. I wanted to lose weight to have more energy and feel better and this has been just the opposite.

Sorry to be such a downer.

    Melissa
  • Hang in there, IKEMUFFIN -- this food plan is likely very different than what you have been eating, and just the departure from well practiced habits can feel kinda miserable. But it won't take too long for you create new habits.
Have you had your week one weigh in yet? I hope it is a good result and inspiring.

If you are perusing the threads in this forum, I am sure you are seeing many successful IP Phase 1'ers who are at or close to goal. It works if you work it. Have faith.

Congrats on the great weigh in!
  • Hi IKEMUFFIN: Make sure you are getting all your water, salt & vitamins, and oil in. This may be hard to do at first but if you are feeling yucky, remember what your body is 'purging' itself of, starting this past week.
Try a salt lick - put IP salt in your hand, lick it off, follow with a water chaser, this can help with the weak dizzy feeling and headaches. It does get much better, but can be a trial for a bit if your old style of eating is very different from the 4 c of very low carb fresh veg, low fat, and lean proteins that we eat in P1.

    Hang on girl!

  • Thyroid
Quote: I get it. I've done it before thanks.

Right now, I'm more concerned about my health and thyroid than losing this 10 pounds so I'll stick with what I'm doing now until things improve medically.
I am doing a reboot too, and trying it 90% IP, 10% low carb. I had success Spring 2013 and lost 25 pounds. But my thyroid, that had always been giving me trouble, finally had to be removed in December. Boom. On went 15 pounds in a matter of a two months while I was trying to get the right dose of synthroid. I felt terrible too, so my doctor advised me not to diet until I got my numbers in normal range and felt better.

I tried 100% IP, but this time around I didn't feel good at all on it. Dizzy all the time. Even if I ate an extra packet. So I reading online that if you keep your carbs under 50G and your protein at .7 x your body weight, you should stay in ketosis. They also recommend eating some fat for your energy.

I have a feeling that the extra 200 calories a day that the cheese / mayo / tomato sauce, etc...might slow down the process a bit, but at least I'm not dizzy anymore.

If you have any other tips that you are doing, let me know.

Also, has anyone else felt dizzy on IP? And does anyone else have to pee ALL THE TIME?
  • As for peeing, up to 10x a day is still considered normal according to bladderandbowelfoundation.org. Especially if you are back to drinking your full water quota after slacking off on it for a bit you'll notice how often you need to go.
