Participate in a UCL study on snacking behaviours and earn £6

  • Hi there,

I am a research student at University College London. I would like to invite you to participate in my study on developing a mobile app for healthier snacking behaviours. The study has received UCL research ethical approval (ID: UCLIC/1213/015). You will get paid £6 online gift voucher if you reside in the UK.

    Background:
Previous health research has indicated that excessive snacking has outweighed high-calorie meals as a major predictor for obesity. So some researchers at UCL have implemented several lab-proved beneficial interventions for food craving with an Android app(sorry, we haven't got an iOS app at the moment), which is meant to serve as a handy tool for self-directed snacking regulation.

The study involves using a mobile app for 1 week to regulate snacking behaviours and providing feedback that help us improve the app. The use of the app is noninvasive at all; data will be anonymised and used for research purposes only; and you can withdraw anytime.

    Eligibility
You need to be aged 18 or above
You need to have access to an Android device (some features are only supported by Android version 4.0 or above)
You need to be motivated to improve your snacking behaviours

Please complete a pre-study questionnaire which assesses your current snacking styles: https://uclpsych.eu.qualtrics.com/SE...8053473HrQSYjX
OR scan the QR code to access the link.

    What's next:
After completing the pre-study questionnaire, you will receive the installation file within a week.
Please use the app whenever you crave snacks.
Fill in a post-study questionnaire after using the app for 1 week.
    Get paid.

We run weekly time slots throughout June and maybe in early July. If you are interested, please sign up ASAP. If you have any queries, please private message me. Thanks!

  • I will try and do it (my phone doesn't always handle apps too well though as it never seems to have enough space on it for anything). I can't private message you though as there is no option for this, possibly because you haven't done enough posts. You can pm me if you want?
  • Hi,
I just found I can't access the private message page. As I can't add any link here, could you try typing https: in the address bar, then copying and pasting //uclpsych.eu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_38053473HrQSYjX
  • Echo, I added the link to your original post, so interested parties can access it I would like to ask that all comments about this remain in this thread.

    Good luck!
  • I'm going to do this later as my
    Android phone is at home
